i finally gotta toss it today on a sage z-axis 5wt and all i can say is the slight difference in shootability is marginal... BUT the noise in the guides... ANNOYING...didnt like it atol...sounded like she is sawing the guides...i know i know it dosnt or is not suppose too less surface area les friction blah blah blah...but the noise......

great issue too bring up dude..i cleaned a few of my lines a few nights back after having them for less than a month, granted a dozen days on the water...and man were they dirty...i find that most speylines dont float as high in the surface film mainly because i think they were more designed too be fished on the swing so i figure i will be cleaning all of my floating scandi heads a little more often when nymph fishing...didnt realy think about shootability in the running lines tho being slicker and cleaner....good on ya for mentioning that...im with teh wetrag then scientific anglers line dresser for treatment...

bauer reels all the way if u can fork out the coin...scierra reels are nice...wich models are you looking at..bin drooling over a few the past few months.....the xda's look sick..

i here ya there dude i got on one the way a 10'9" 6weight maybe a 7..beauty stick....might just be my new fave once she is in my hands....the beaulahs are nice rods too..havnt fished teh sage..i have a loop blue 11'2" 7wt one/two hander...shes my go too nymph rod all teh way on teh bow...cant waite tooget the gh&l tho..will be a smaller stick and fun from the boat...
