  2. hey dude u might be hitting it a little too hard...try too strip in line and lift the rod at teh same time when striking..striking more too the side or downriver will help keep the flies out of teh bush....try too keep your rod tip low too the water while your in teh drift (around a foot off the water) too reduce the tendancy too lift the rodtip way up and past your head..keep at it dude!
  3. all black copperjohns work great too
  4. wow weedy..first the gramma po-leese now private investo-gator wuss next meng......
  5. that is a trippy idea dude..thanks for posting
  6. what whistler is trying too say i think ........if u have a 9 foot rod and fish from shore you have a 12 foot distance (im guess) from teh ground too teh tip of the rod...once you wade out and stand in 1 foot of water you loose 1 foot of distance from the rod tip too the ground and your at 11ft...2 feet of water 2 feet of distance 10 ft...it changes the way you halfto cast too get teh same cast u had on shore.......i noticed when i was fishing my spey on shore then waded out mid thy the difference how my line/rod would cast ...i was getting way to much line stick and the d loop wasnt as tall... i would halfto have a higher casting position(above my head) too get the same type of d-loop i was on shore...please correct me if im wrong and way out there...
  7. found a flybox this weekend at the boatlaunch in fishcreek...send me a pm if its your...
  8. i prefer the underhand cast.......its much more effective and effortless too fish more water...single hand fishing does have its time and place in my fishing but...
  9. lmao yea i dont get it...maybe dave is now getting into golf?
  10. single adult midge in black brown olive and tan...thread body peacock thorax and antron wings.........deadly
  11. i cant remember the name but in edmonton there use to be/ or still is a "reel doctor"...try callin one of the edmonton fishin store and they might have a number for u.
  12. if u dont think u will need too pick up large amounts of line..you dont really need one...small creeks and whatnot type of fishing...but if u are fishing lakes and larger streams a large arbor os great for that extra bit of line retrieval..most mid arbors and large arbours carry the same amount of backing but compared too small arbours your losing some backing capacity .... but not a whole lot..like others mentioned...they do cost a little more..but IMHO i think they are a must.......
  13. welcome SW if u dont want too take advantage of the chinnoks and do a little winter fishin ide say u shoul dbe laughin and fishing by april unless be get a bunch more nsow...mid-april and may is usually pretty brown and not too cold...just before the big rains and high water
  14. well i would say go toss a few lines at your local shop...a quick fix would be too overline it. im not too familiar with sinking lines but the rio outbound is a great distance line...snowbee has a line xs-ed line with a sinktip. i have one in a full floating and its a sick line for my faster stick.
  15. hey dude i usually use the sun and snow setting when fishing..it say it helps reduce glare. i have it on auto focus usualy and macro for the closeups....i had a canon before..u jsut gotta mess around with it.
  16. lmfao LS...brutal
  17. i forgot too mention this one dude...before i went spey i was druling over this one for hte past 2 years...its a loop opti-peak 3 or 4wt 11'... http://www.looptackleusa.com/pages/product...d/opti-peak.php
  18. i figured a donation was a donation..giving something away out of the love of whatever...not a way too feel like i supported something and made a quick buck doing so..were not talking about donations of millions of dollars...just a few hunred here n there for whatever..yall can keep that tax reciept...im doin this for the love...charity right?
  19. sink tips are a must dude. didnt use em a whole lot except for some heavy stuff for streamers but having a multi tip kit for your rod will open up a ton of new possabilities.....i think an intermediate tip will be killer for fish eating pupae and emergers and haveing a few heavier tips for the deeper and faster water helps a ton.
  20. sign me up for donating a halfday w&w on the bow for the auction...
