golfed all my life ... dads freakin huge into it...... have had theoldschool garbage clubs and the newschool ballin clubs and i still shoot the same... learning how to golf better tho made me a better golfer.... after buying any line i can still dump the whole line.... 20 bucks or 80 bucks...... give it up goofball.... ultra 4 halfprice is a good deal but not necessary if it aint on sale!

cheap lines is were its at.. headstart or aircel is all i ever use..... learning the are of line manipulation is the hard part... stop waisting your money on high doller lines...... kinda like golf to...... gear dont buy a game...... teres a few others ou there that are in teh 20-30 doller range.. i realy like "true northern".... there canadian and make some of orvis's line so its not like they dont no what they are doing...... hansons outfitters darries the stuff

spent the morning yesterday fishing the upper crow above the falls..fishing wasnt too bad but late in teh afternoon hawstoppa and i figured we sahll try to go slam mclennans pigbow he hit a number of years back..... we figured if he was still around it must be 30+ by now..... so we took a trip down memeory lane.... water is mega low and it was cool to see what was at the bottom of the resivoir but depressing at the same time hearing b's stories of what useto be here n there....... brian coudlnt resist fishing his favorite run as a kid we found a few fish but according too brian she aint what she useto be....

lay off josh.... this was not a direct attack tooo you.... and you just stated what i said above..... learning too fish from shore will help the development of the client compared too drifting? also striking downstream drawing the hooks back into the fishes mouth is not more effective than setting upstream drawing the flies away from teh fishes mouth? i understand some fishing methods involve downstream presentations but in my opinion the upstream presentation on a dead drift is ideal... fishing under tension downstream is different all together.. correct? so too most effectivly hook trout wich would you prefer...... and if you have a long enough drift and she is not going under should'nt you add more weight? also like you stated.. being on foot you can cover water more thuroughly...correct? so too be mroe effective focus on what is above you... because u should have fished below you when you started too work up through the run... correct?

great points everyone..... only things i would like too add is downstream presentations on teh nymph rig while indicator fishing may cover more water but reduces your striking ability because you are pulling the flies upstream and away frmo the fish........ if you like to "contact fish" hence moving flies.. it is best to longline or czech nymph rather than indicator fish.. you have far greater contact and it is more likely too simulate emergin insects... aaka leisnig(sp.?) lift.... google european nymph fishing dude.. tons of info on teh net..... and lastly a float trip will not help you learn how too fish from foot compared to walk and wade trips..... one huge misconception i have foudn while taking out clients who have mainly floated but fish on there own is they use litle too not much of anything they learned frmo teh float in real day practical fishing situations.......... learnign too break down a run and fish from foot it a totally different artform too drifting from a boat/toon..... keep at it dude and try not too get frustrated

well i forgot too add.......shorlty after recieving mega deep cutts from maxmima tippet.......what if the head skipped off the rock with maybe 1 foot of water in a moderate too fast currant dropped frmo a iceshelve 5-6feet high by a man 5 foot8 persay........

yea bluntforce/road rash of some sorts..... out of the fiddymillyun lips ive seen stretched spinnin/icefishin as a young kid and flyfishin ... i have never seen a line wrap do this to any fish....... seen a few gashes similar on my own body at times fallin off the old bmx..... seen it in salmon too when they leap falls and do faceplants into the rocks...... maybe the carslandweir/fishladder? would be full of fish leapin and has some rough hard edges........

noep not exactly.. when i was young i useto feed eagles in a lake in b.c. on the daily.. seems they eat upto 5 bows 12-20 inches..... was nutty too watch kickin aroudn in a canoe tossin out a fish and seeing the eagle coem ffrom waht seemed too eb a mile ore more away........ there were times they missed and dropped the fish tearing out a chunk..... sometimes one set of talons would grab em in the head or tail but the other would miss.. they had em either way and were about too take a second shot................ had a few droped fish with similar marking....... dead fish mind you dont thrash much and a living one..... well could easily wiggle free in this situation........ usetoo watch salmon get picked up too... they had a little more damage but once again a little more fish too grab.. this fish keep in mig was 16 inches or so.........
