  1. I remember a firm called Enviro-Test somewhere in Alberta that were used to do testing, but I don't know what kinds of testing they could do. Many firms may be busy with the new regs on wellsite reclamation, but there should be someone who could do it.
  2. Getting a spey line on an 8 weight reel would be tough, if not impossible. You also may want a heavier reel that can counterbalance the rod. Typically the reels used for this are in the 10-12 weight class, and would be too heavy for an 8-weight.
  3. sexyloops had a video and some tips on their site
  4. Welcome to the board. Popular rods here are in the 12'-13.5' range in 5-7 weights, depending on what you're using em for. I've got a 12'6" Deer Creek that I'm learning to spey cast with, and a 10'6" 7/8 switch rod for streamers. Just do a search in the Spey Casters Lounge, there's tons of info in there.

  9. If his hard drive is ok, and it's just a windows problem, he can repair windows by booting off of the windows CD and choosing to repair; it will not overwrite any data on the hard drive, but all of his applications will need to be reinstalled.
  10. They plan on opening one in Montreal.
  11. Yes, it is. I'm probably looking to replace it in the future, though, as the jaws have already chipped twice.
  12. Ditto for me.
  13. I learned that the hard way so now I just put a loop of 30# spider wire in and just run it over the hook afterwards, so I don't have to store it with the hook ready to strike.

  16. I'd be interested.
  17. Russells has a few items in stock as well, but not as much as fishtales.
  18. Not-Very-Nice Guy Jake
  19. I'd be interested.
  20. Looks like a killer!
  21. But you're a business that's expected to take care of the vehicle. You stand a good chance of getting sued since the other alternative for the owner is to have their insurance rates go up. You could try a waiver, but you'd best consult a lawyer to see if it would stand up in court.
  22. Something to consider if you're looking for a longer rod: http://www.beulahflyrods.com/switchrods.html TFO is reportedly coming out with a switch rod series, as well.
  23. But you could also donate the portion that would have otherwise gone to Ottawa.
  24. Never used one, so I couldn't tell ya.
