  1. Rusty, see you soon down here. The 10' 5wt is an awesome chironomiding rod for the lakes in the Cypress Hills areas. I'll even buy the beer this time.
  2. Media not the first option. Do a search on the internet for contact info, or simply call the report a poacher line and ask them for info. CO's do a lot of good work around here. Don't want a black mark for the whole group beacause of a POSSIBLE couple idiots (there's always the chance they were'nt CO's) Definatley make the call though.
  3. Happy birthday...send me a pm when you got time to fish and we can hook up again. Take care...hope to be in your old stopping grounds this weekend.
  4. Most been said, but here's the priorities: -Lots of fish/action...doesn't matter size or species. If it might be slower action, take them out in a boat. -SNACKS! Something like stopping at Tim Hortons on the way to pick up timbits, fruit snacks on the water, ect. -No rod for you. When I take my two girls out, there's one rod between the three of us. -Dip net is a good idea. My girls love playing with the throat pump. They like squirting water in it, but are also really excited to see what the fish was eating.
  5. $190 on 21...Terry's net
  6. Run your line through you indicator once, and then do it again. Add the toothpick if need be. I always do this as I use straight tippet and the indicators use to slide too much due to the small diameter.
  7. Won't affect me...the only thing that affects me is time, and I have all of July and August off Plans are... Lake fishing in the Kamloops area Lake fishing in Sk and Mb Bow, and Crow SE BC 2x Montana 2x Golden Trout SE Ab streams at least a couple of times. Police Outpost Lakes at Palmer's ranch K lakes in May (Forgot to add Steelheading in 3 weeks in BC) ...and then a whack of trips on the lakes around my area.
  8. We could use it as an ice breaker at Bullshead this weekend..no better way to break in a new drift boat than breaking up the 15'' of ice out there. You row, I'll drink beer.
  9. Funny, I was just going to mention your bull trout from that spot
  10. No gas allowed...electric motors only.
  11. great post with the comparison.
  12. I love jon boats for fly fishing...wouldn't go any bigger than a 1032 if you're trying to lift it onto the roof. I have a 1232 that I put on a little trailer and tow behind my vehicle.
  13. Nice..most envious picture was the snow storm one...I love being in the pass and fishing in the snow...those are the days I seem to remember.
  14. So, first day on the new mac...pretty fancy so far...can do everything my old pc did, plus a little more
  15. Where did you find the bodies...having a heck of a time tracking down them (or similar...can't tell if yours are the same from the picture). Instead of glueing them on, I take a razor blade and cut a slit in them and them place them on the hook that way. Aquaseal holds everything in place. The pattern I use is Jennings Ultimate Boatman.
  16. cowichan at Easter hey...I was looking at a similar trip. Instead went with the squamish. Cowichan is a beautiful river.
  17. Also surprised that won't hold one in Calgary also. If they're willing to hold one in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat (which they are, Tuesday and Wednesday night), they why can't they hold one in Calgary and Edmonton? It's a lot easier for me to travel to Lethbridge...but I'm glad they're coming to me.
  18. So, I've basically convinced myself into buying a new mac, mainly for the whole 'lack of virus' thing. My needs are simple. I'll still have my pc at work, so the laptop will be for home where it's mostly Internet surfing, and basic microsoft office stuff (power point, word processing etc). Will do the odd movie, and store all my itunes music and movies on it (have close to 50G in itunes...contemplating keeping it all on the portable hard drive though) So, any recommendations on which one to get...any additional equipment or software? Here's the link http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop...ook?mco=MTE3MzM Thinking of getting the basic one as I don't do a lot of 'high tech' stuff, but I'm use to 'buying the best' so I'm also thinking of getting the $1750 one as I'm wondering if I'll be kicking myself two years down the road. Thanks for any input.
  19. depends what you're using it for: -small creeks...3 wt dt, cut in half (save the other half for later) -larger creeks, rivers 2 wt dt, cut in half (save the other half for later) get them both to cover all bases and see which suits your rod better.
  20. Been going for goldens in mid july the last couple of years, few days after the opening. Haven't busted any rods yet, but do get the odd sore arm (especially if you happen to foul hook one on the dropper)
  21. Oh man, talk about dreaming, but here I go: -Many days on Bullshead with buddies and daughters -Some 'other' lakes in the Cypress Hills -Few days on lakes in Kamloops area -Bull trout from the Lower K in Spring -Flowing water in SW AB, and SE BC (had 10 classified licenses last year on three different trips...can get a little pricey...hopefully less this year ) -Annual Golden Trout trip -Few days on some lakes in the Parkland regions of MB -Canadian Fly Fishing Championships for the first time -BC Steelhead in April Lots to do, but the good thing is, I know I'll get most of this done (what a wonderful job and family I have )
  22. good post. Police and RCMP are too often not given the respect they deserve.
  23. Sometimes if you keep doing something so pathetic the first few times, sooner or later, people will just stop asking you to do it. ps. When are we going fishing again...I'll row
  24. You know Mark, you're going to need someone to row that new boat. And I promise I won't row like I do when I'm with H20 (ie. floating the boat right on top of all the good water so he gets p*ssed, and takes the oars back )
  25. MIB recommended this to me a while back and it's awesome...idiot proof.
