    The Bulldog

Actully think it's very different from the Pumpkin head that John ties. This fly was created by Brent Schlenker for Dale Freschi. It's actually just a woolley bugger, but if you know Dale (nickname Bulldog) and his habit of always fishing wooley buggers, you'll get where this fly came from.
  2. Haig Brown started as a gear fisherman also, and spent much time with fishing buddies who chucked gear in the Campbell and the Salt. He did a lot of 'bonkin' of wild steelhead also. He's definitely 'superior' when compared to me, but we're likely more elitist than he was Love the history of the sport in Canada and Haig Brown sure wrote some good stories.
  3. Nice...looks like the Oyster. Love the Island

    Steelhead'n

Holy crap...that first one is NICE
  5. Yah saw that...still wondering why they let you off easy?
  6. I like the mag, and I like the board. For those who visit it regularly, you'll know what I mean about the centerpinning comment. It's definitely a fly fishing board with an edge...basically anything goes...especially if you're willing to share some boobs, pie and fish porn It can sometimes be the opposite of this board, and that's not a good or bad thing....it's just different..just don't ask them what their favorite 5wt is.
  7. Drake is a print magazine...I believe you can pick it up at FishTales. They have a forum also, but it's mostly for centerpinners
  8. Hell yah...I once got pissed on by a sleep walker when I was spending the night in an old monastery in Dublin!

    My July

Weird...really weird but I think I got it figured out. Don't think it had anything to do with the mods.
  10. I actually like DT lines for anything 4wt or smaller. I cut a lot of them in half and store the other half for later. Don't find a big casting distance as everything that small is dries usually. Too me, line ratings are a 'recommendation'. Try them out with different lines for different situations. For my 2 wt, I use a 3 and 2wt line evenly. For bigger waters where I'm making longer casts, it's a 2 wt. For small creeks, it's a 3 wt. Have a rod I also didn't really like much as a 4 wt...little sluggish for how I wanted to use it (for me), but when I put a 3 wt line on it...it made all the difference in the world. Also have 10' 3 wt (Dan Craft FT) that fishes really well with a 4 wt line.

Yah, I don't see them either...They're really big files as I didn't resize them, so that might have something to do with it. I'm pm the mods.

Can't take credit for the pictures...it's nice to have some buddies who know how to use a camera.

Not the biggest bully, but a 20'' on a dry fly was the big fish that day OK, now my biggest bully...taped at 33'' Also got some nice cutties and big bows where they shouldn't have been, but they'll have to wait until later.

I know...a little late but had some great trips this summer. Here's some pics from a couple trips in July Two different hikes for Goldens.
  15. Crowsnest angler will get one for you then at the shop.
  16. Yes it does, but they will go on line to do it. Which is exactly what you would do on your own. The whole system is online line.
  17. Heard some very good reviews about his rods, but don't know of anyone who carries them. Amundson is coming out with an 1134 switch (11' 3/4) that may interest you. I have one you could try casting, but I'm south of Calgary in Medicine Hat.
  18. The Amundson Wind Warrior 10' 5wt goes for $250.

That's Brent...I've come across the video a few times, and seen parts...just never gotten around to picking it up...always think 'next time' when I see it.
