  1. Brian .. Your hat did you happen to loose it on the Castle, I found one there last year, it was moldy and full of debris and falling apart, I took it out of the water, and set it on a rock.. I doubt it is still there but you never know!!!
  2. Peter "Life is about the adventure" I love your tag line or maybe it is called your signature, but and there is always a but I would add one thing to it, that one thing is three words!!!!!!! Life is about the adventure - bring a Flyrod..... RickR what a sweet brown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. NOPE ! when them two boys hit bottom and the blades bite in they are going to swing around like one of them tether ball thingy s.. or a play ground merry-go-round. hahahahahahahahhhh would pay to see that!!!!!
  4. Happy Birthday to you both.. Tight line and happy times at the vise!!!
  5. Found this guy/girl in a low tree, well I should qualify that My Golden Retriever Thor found it. I have seen numerous Bald and Golden Eagles in the area, so that's what I figure got it.. And yes I am 99.987777777% sure it is a Burbot.. Note: yes it is a dead fish , that is a fact, but and there is always a but.. I did not kill or catch and kill it.. Another wild creature did, I am presuming.
  6. This is a NZ production on handling fish, they have a vested interest in taking care of their fish.. we should follow suite....
  7. Hi Bobloblaw. Paul Morrell is one of those people that go through life doing good things that to him are just the right thing to do. I have known Paul for more then 30years and he has given me much more then he will ever know. He was my best friend from jr High School when I was a skinny long haired four eyed kid. His folks showed me what it was like to have a good family to belong to, and probly by their example keep me from being another New Brunswick bum in jail. I owe the man, and it comes as no surprise that he returned your camera and went to the lengths he did to get it to you. you have met a true "good guy " Ray. Damn I should not drink red wine and think of the old days!!!! Blowing my image as a grumpy old Sgt..
  8. To all that have offered their services, a hearty big thank you and we will take you up on the offer.. We still have the challenge of getting the word to your local veterans, and that is being worked on diligently. Then the flood waters will open so to speak.. and we will calling all those offers, the plus on this is you will experience the joy of helping others to get the benefit of fly fishing, casting and tying as a means of rehabilitation and therapy. WOW this does not sound like the old hardassed Sgt that I used to be, all the fly fishing must be helping !
  9. Well I think it will be a warm bath or shower with the Phosphate free Camping soap, and a loving rub with Pledge... then I think my rods will love me long time!!!!! Thanks for all your input on this..
  10. Hmmm nothing sorry about your arse girl, Just saying!!!!! The fish league is out of my league only due to distance.. and water fished..
  11. Agreed and understood, just a thought, WD40 does repel water... but does attract airborne particles , any thoughts or observations on that..
  12. Hmmmm that's what I thought, no longer natural oil based (read that Whale or Fish oil) and now a synthetic oil product.. I understand that the rod finish is damn near impervious but and there is always a but if there is a crack in the finish.. and the WD40 gets to the under materials that maybe different.. ADC have you noticed this with any of your rods.. I only ask or question the WD40 because if I **** up a rod then it will take forever to replace. I know 100% that you would not give ill advise, it is just not your way but and of course there is always a but , I do worry!!!
  13. I am listening but still skeptical. I don't think they use whale oil any more in it !!!!
  14. WD40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! explain to me and convince me that it will not ruin my fly rods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry ADC I only use WD40 on my vehicles and I have heard that some Bait Chucking hardware fishing fools use it for Lakers .... For those that would not understand my that part of my post In no way indicating or implying that you are one of the "Bait Chucking hardware fishing fools use it for Lakers ...."
  15. AHHHHH toothbrush for the area around the guides , damn good idea!
  16. I have noticed that my fly rods have a haze/dirt on the outside of the blank, this is from use. I was wondering how you all go about cleaning your fly rods, our season here does not end, it slows down, so I thought I would use this time to give the RODS a wipe down. So the question is How often do you do this Do you use anything, wax, cleaner etc... Is there any special stuff?
  17. Gals and Guys of FFC Jack or Fred which ever he prefers, is thanking us for the interest in Amundson. But and there is always a but, he is being modest. He and the Amundson crew have given as much and more then they received in my humble opinion. From Project Healing Waters Canada Thank you so very much for your very kind and generous donation (s) . It is we all agree a very unique and beautiful donation and will be utilized to make a PHWC client very happy. Jack, Kerry should be sending you an email by way of thanks and we will be linking your Web site to PHWC . Thanks again and it was great to have met you, Ralf, Tim and Brunsie.
