A solider, Christmas, and Jesus Most of you might have seen this before, but it always puts a lump in my throat, Ann and I would always bring home any of the single guys from my unit that could not get home or did not have any one to go home to, always gave them their own stocking. I am truly going to miss that, this and every year. Damn screen is getting blurry, Please read and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS, and HAVE A HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR HE is the reason for the season! The Night Before Christmas T'was the night before Christmas, He lived all alone, In a one bedroom house, Made of plaster and stone. I had come down the chimney, With presents to give, And to see just who, In this home did live. I looked all about, A strange sight I did see, No tinsel, no presents, Not even a tree. No stocking by the mantle, Just boots filled with sand, On the wall hung pictures, Of far distant lands. With medals and badges, Awards of all kinds, A sober thought, Came through my mind. For this house was different, It was dark and dreary, I found the home of a soldier, Once I could see clearly. They all enjoyed freedom, Each month of the year, Because of the soldiers, Like the one lying here. I couldn't help wonder, How many lay alone, On a cold Christmas Eve, In a land far from home. The very thought brought A tear to my eye, I dropped to my knees, And started to cry. The soldier awakened, And I heard a rough voice, 'Santa, don't cry. This life is my choice. I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more, My life is my God, My country, my corps.' The soldier rolled over, And drifted to sleep, I couldn't control it, I continued to weep. I kept watch for hours, So silent and still, And we both shivered, From the cold night's chill. I didn't want to leave, On that cold, dark night, This guardian of honor, So willing to fight. Then the soldier rolled over, With a voice, soft and pure, Whispered, 'Carry on Santa, It's Christmas Day, all is secure.' One look at my watch, And I knew he was right, 'Merry Christmas my friend, And to all a good night.' This poem was written by a peace keeping soldier stationed overseas.

WOW that is really sad, I wonder how many that use them will change or stop to preserve the fish they so love to catch or will they keep on using it because it works? Another reason to go over to the light side, Fly fishing..

Again I was going to stay out of this one but here it goes.. Best steaks in order 1. moose 2.Elk 3.Whitetail. 4. Superstore Marinading steak, the one with all the fat in the meat(marbling), two bones= flavour, rind of fat along the outside, more flavour, and around 4-5 bucks a lb.. Bar-B-que hot, Montreal Steak spice, , tinfoil onions and mushrooms with lots of butter and garlic, turn the steak over once each side. if you want the hash marks like the fancy dancy places do, then lift steak and move half turn to the right and then do the same on other side. Baked potatoes in the microwave, be sure to put a hole in them or they blow up (seriously ), or more tinfoil and do them on the BBQ but I like all the room for the steak, and fire too hot.. Damn thing is when I turn 50, I will have to reduce my red meat intake. :$*%&:

Agreed, selective restoration, would be beneficial to native species.. Just read in a mag that the USF&W plan to poison wild trout in Silver King creek and reintroduce native pure-strain Paiute cutthroat Trout..their native range is only 10 stream miles.. and the USF&W want to poison the whole river ??? Not sure this thinking is happening here in AB, I hope not..

Taco Does that include the rest of the province or is that only in the parks? and where do we draw the time line? 100 years ago most of those lakes in the park were barren of fish or with very small populations of natives.. Doe we wait until we have utopia, or do we nudge it here and there.. Do we tweak the streams to keep the native and introduced populations as separate as possible.. Taco This is the type of exchange I wanted from all this, not just introduced Non-native species are bad and we got to kill them.. because if that were so you would be out of a job unless you can look at bison toes.. Where is the original poster in this now? what are his views on what has been brought up..
