  1. Congrats man! is that your first?
  2. Ryan will be 6 months on Wednesday. He is 18lbs and 27" going to be taller than his dad I hope.
  3. Thanks everyone for the great responses. I am going to call custom and see if I can talk to someone.
  4. I am leaving for a couple of weeks to go on a training course in Milwaukee and I am going to have some time in the evenings to kill so I figured I would try to be productive and tie some flies. Does anyone know of any restrictions to bringing gear and material into the states?

ooo ooo I know I know
  7. I think you are meaning to build the box itself but this is how I filled one that I bought from Micheals. Its a 5x7 box cost ~$16.
  8. for anyone that doesn't have anything going on tonight, there is room for a few more at my place this evening. PM me and I will get you the details. (story about the hijack rocknbugs)
  9. I am still interested either day is fine.
  10. I love how it looks like theres 2 feet kicking at the back.
  11. PMs sent. I was figuring if Rocknbugs wasn't available this weekend I could try hosting if anyone else is interested let me know and I will PM you the details.
  12. I have been thinking about this idea alot recently would love to see some other people tie and If I can help anyone thats great, so count me in. I was also thinking that if people are interested (people like me without plans) I would happily host an evening this saturday if there is any interest probably have enough space for about 8 tiers.
  13. I was finding the particular lace I was using to be really dark even when using light colored thread and thats why I tried the tinsel. I guess I could try dubbing I have seen that with some patterns.
  14. Well that makes a lot more sense thanks for clarifying I obviously was confused.
  15. I try to set on every movement of the indicator. sometimes it takes a dumb fish to get me in the habit. As for continuing the drift afterwards its just not a big deal to recast so hit hard imo.
  16. I have a simple question and probably if I spent more time reading I would find this out. Do we get tax receipts for auction items? or is the person who donates that gets the receipt? The reason I ask is that we bid as a group on Hawgstoppahs trip and we were wondering if its better to have one person pay the whole amount and then we pay him back or if i is easier on TUC side if we pay individually?
  17. I will take 2. how much?
  18. I tie because to me there is nothing in fly fishing more satisfying than enticing a fish to take one of your own creations. Also I really enjoy it. I find it especially useful for filling my nymph box with stuff the fish have never seen before and won't see again. My wife asked me if it saved me money and my reply simply was the cost of the materials is less than what I would pay for the flies in the store, but if you factor in my time I will never tie at a level where I would make money.
  19. or lundvike works out to 'Pinstripe' Giorgio Moretti
  20. I got inspired by the video and went and washed my hands. I tied a few of these. I used mylar tinsel under the larva lace to give it a bit more shine still a dead simple tie.

    Cowichan River

Beautiful photos. That forest reminds me of home. Looks like you had some decent weather at least.
  24. I tried a for few days and couldn't get a hold of anyone, so now the check is in the mail.
  25. It was basically half a package each of white and black rabbit strips. The strips were only just long enough to wrap from rear hook to front hook. There is about 5 inches of steel leader in between the hooks.
