  1. I am still interested either day is fine.
  2. I love how it looks like theres 2 feet kicking at the back.
  3. PMs sent. I was figuring if Rocknbugs wasn't available this weekend I could try hosting if anyone else is interested let me know and I will PM you the details.
  4. I have been thinking about this idea alot recently would love to see some other people tie and If I can help anyone thats great, so count me in. I was also thinking that if people are interested (people like me without plans) I would happily host an evening this saturday if there is any interest probably have enough space for about 8 tiers.
  5. I was finding the particular lace I was using to be really dark even when using light colored thread and thats why I tried the tinsel. I guess I could try dubbing I have seen that with some patterns.
  6. I will take 2. how much?
  7. I tie because to me there is nothing in fly fishing more satisfying than enticing a fish to take one of your own creations. Also I really enjoy it. I find it especially useful for filling my nymph box with stuff the fish have never seen before and won't see again. My wife asked me if it saved me money and my reply simply was the cost of the materials is less than what I would pay for the flies in the store, but if you factor in my time I will never tie at a level where I would make money.
  8. or lundvike works out to 'Pinstripe' Giorgio Moretti
  9. I got inspired by the video and went and washed my hands. I tied a few of these. I used mylar tinsel under the larva lace to give it a bit more shine still a dead simple tie.

Beautiful photos. That forest reminds me of home. Looks like you had some decent weather at least.
  13. It was basically half a package each of white and black rabbit strips. The strips were only just long enough to wrap from rear hook to front hook. There is about 5 inches of steel leader in between the hooks.
  14. I call it the half rabbit cause I used half a rabbit. ok that was funnier when I was playing with the glue. Hooks: two Mustad 1/0 34007 Thread: Red 6/0 Body: red, black and white rabbit Flash: orange Eyes: Sea Eyes Large Red Legs: Sili Legs Firetip Red/black Glues: Goop for binding the rabbit, crazy for securing rabbit to hook, Epoxy for the head Hooks joined by stainless steel leader. Fishing suggestion: Cause I think it will be hard to cast (my biggest pole is a 6 weight) place it in the water next to your pontoon or float tube and paddle like crazy.
  15. the lead made the thing really difficult to manage with my 6 weight when I tried it yesterday. also I think it made the it sit the wrong way up in the water. but man did it sink fast. Looked really neat when stripped and then stopped. If anyone is interested I lost one on the bank by the poo hole go a ahead and try it out.
  16. I was going to try your pattern because it looks great. I had tied golden stones with beads for a swap and I had tied the head portion slipped on the beads and then tied the tail.
  17. Did you tie the head first then slide the beeds on and then tie the tail? or did you tie over the beeds?
  18. I hadn't even noticed the new swap hehe
  19. Its ~6" from eye to the tip of the tail.
  20. I am lazy and have no time it is a deadly combination. So are ya starting one? going to organize one? something with deer hair
  21. These are the last two flies that I have tied. The first is a bunny fly tied with two 1/0 hooks and the second is an emerger tied on a #24. I found it kind of funny really, very little similarity between the 2.
  22. So I kind of played with a more traditional double bunny pattern and I came up with this: My wife thinks its ugly and reminded me that fish don't have hair. Hook: Mustad 1/0 34007 Body: Lead, UV polar chenille, red bunny strip over the eyes to simulate gills Body/tail: Gold variant rabbit strip and white rabbit strip Eyes: Gold medium size flat end dumbells Thread: tan 6/0 I need to buy some stick on eyes!! Thanks BBB cause I really needed something else to be addicted to. I guess its less damaging to my brain than crack (although there was a lot of solvent from the glue) but more expensive.
  23. So I was inspired to try my first bully fly for this contest. This is the 2nd one I tied. I give you Bunny Love. Hook: Mustad 34011 #4 Tail: Red rabbit strip Body: Red rabbit strip, white rabbit strip, Pearl UV polar chenille Legs: Sili Legs fire tip black/red Eyes: Deep See Eyes 7/16" Thread: Red 6/0 Thanks for the seminar BBB
  24. I found this auction the other day when I was trying to find an auction that we have some old equipment in. Check out items 16 and 17 specifically. Alberta Government Surplus Auction I can't imagine what you would do with this legally.
  25. not so much a need for deer hair but rather a need to harass him about something.
