I call it the half rabbit cause I used half a rabbit. ok that was funnier when I was playing with the glue. Hooks: two Mustad 1/0 34007 Thread: Red 6/0 Body: red, black and white rabbit Flash: orange Eyes: Sea Eyes Large Red Legs: Sili Legs Firetip Red/black Glues: Goop for binding the rabbit, crazy for securing rabbit to hook, Epoxy for the head Hooks joined by stainless steel leader. Fishing suggestion: Cause I think it will be hard to cast (my biggest pole is a 6 weight) place it in the water next to your pontoon or float tube and paddle like crazy.

I will vouch for Toolman and Max both have taught me an incredible amount in the brief time that I fished with them. I hired max last year for a half day and have not been skunked, or even without a trout under 15" on the 20+ days that I have been out and have hit double digits in numbers on a few occasions compared to the year before where I was lucky to get a 3 fish on a great day. And I am very surprised that noone has out bid us on the oldman trip with hawgstoppah.

the lead made the thing really difficult to manage with my 6 weight when I tried it yesterday. also I think it made the it sit the wrong way up in the water. but man did it sink fast. Looked really neat when stripped and then stopped. If anyone is interested I lost one on the bank by the poo hole go a ahead and try it out.

I was going to try your pattern because it looks great. I had tied golden stones with beads for a swap and I had tied the head portion slipped on the beads and then tied the tail.
-
Did you tie the head first then slide the beeds on and then tie the tail? or did you tie over the beeds?
-
I hadn't even noticed the new swap hehe
-
Its ~6" from eye to the tip of the tail.

I am lazy and have no time it is a deadly combination. So are ya starting one? going to organize one? something with deer hair

These are the last two flies that I have tied. The first is a bunny fly tied with two 1/0 hooks and the second is an emerger tied on a #24. I found it kind of funny really, very little similarity between the 2.

$50 for what bbb said may be 24 flies is barely above retail and it gives someone (like students) a chance to support something worthwhile in a way that allows them to not spent next months rent/beer fund. my hundredth of a toonie.

how is it that noone has bid on bbb's oldman collection? i bid $50

So I kind of played with a more traditional double bunny pattern and I came up with this: My wife thinks its ugly and reminded me that fish don't have hair. Hook: Mustad 1/0 34007 Body: Lead, UV polar chenille, red bunny strip over the eyes to simulate gills Body/tail: Gold variant rabbit strip and white rabbit strip Eyes: Gold medium size flat end dumbells Thread: tan 6/0 I need to buy some stick on eyes!! Thanks BBB cause I really needed something else to be addicted to. I guess its less damaging to my brain than crack (although there was a lot of solvent from the glue) but more expensive.

So I was inspired to try my first bully fly for this contest. This is the 2nd one I tied. I give you Bunny Love. Hook: Mustad 34011 #4 Tail: Red rabbit strip Body: Red rabbit strip, white rabbit strip, Pearl UV polar chenille Legs: Sili Legs fire tip black/red Eyes: Deep See Eyes 7/16" Thread: Red 6/0 Thanks for the seminar BBB

I found this auction the other day when I was trying to find an auction that we have some old equipment in. Check out items 16 and 17 specifically. Alberta Government Surplus Auction I can't imagine what you would do with this legally.

not so much a need for deer hair but rather a need to harass him about something.
-
A combination of my 2 most favourite things. I collect Lego and I have about 100 men in a drawer only a few feet from my tying desk, you can only imagine the mess they make.
-
Yes but we don't talk about it, after all its your tax dollars at work. Sorry I should have warned you that I knew him from work. Next time you see him bug him about the deer hair he promised me. Yeah I was thinking doing some in olive and some in tan with CDC.

Thanks guys. I didn't know what an RS2 is so I googled it RS2

Ok, so I did a little ebay shopping over the holidays and I have just received a couple of shipments today. One of those came with 50 #24 midge hooks, I can't remember what I was thinking, I may have been drunk. Any thoughts on some patterns to tie? I need a magnifying lamp in order to see them.

I fished it a few times last year and Din is right it is really unlike the lower bow. Numbers wise I did ok but all the fish were small and the real difference to me was the seeming lack of insects compared to downstream, still worth fishing if you don't have time to go south.
-
Ok so I had this all tied up last night and didn't get around to taking a photo. This one is for one of the few people I have ever watched do a fly tying demo live. I really enjoyed his demonstration at last years expo. A fly that I would imagine pretty much everyone owns or has fished in the past. The chartreuse and white Clouser. Hook: Mustad size 4 #34011 Thread: white 6/0 (3/0 probably would be better) Body: Chartreuse and white bucktail, Pearlescent Crystal Flash Gills: Red floss Eyes: Red Dumbell Eyes The red "gill" is actually influence from Maxwell.

Ceramic coated wire is used to wrap ferrites to make electomagnets and transformers. The ceramic provides insulation so that wire can be wrapped touching the neighbouring wrap without any conduction. Oh and I use it cause its what I have. My job and schooling involves electronics. Any fine red copper wire would work just as well, but if you are interested I am sure there are electronics component stores or hardware stores that carry this stuff over there as well. I bought it for ~$10 and the roll will last forever

Nice tie. I got 2 questions: What size of hook? It looks relatively small. Does the sequin add any motion to the fly? I have never experimented with sequins.
