Bigbrooktrout if you are interested I am trying to organize a fly tying evening for next Sturday the 14th if you are interested I am sure a few of us would be happy to give you some pointers. I live in Tuscany so we are practically neighbours.

Leroy's tying seminar at the show this year was excellent. He has an absolutely amzing amount of knowledge. All the little tips that he had were definately worth the price of admittion. I learned how to open a ziploc bag.

Non lead solder, just a thought never tried it. certainly have used the regular lead solder when I didn't have any lead around.

A guy I met while I was in Milwaukee last year was fond of fly fishing for carp and suckers. His philosophy was a bent rod is a bent rod. I certainly have days that I have beaten the skunk with a white fish or two.

Ok I a tried searching, really I did, but apparently 2 wt is too short. So I bought a 2wt TFO Finesse rod at the sportsmen show because of the smoking deal I got. I was wondering if anyone might recommend a 2 wt line? I would like a floating WF or DT.

Nothing beats the deep fried pizzas we made at my buddys bachelour party a few years back.

When I was in BC I cleaned my reel by putting the whole thing in one of my boots and running the hose into it for a while. I am pretty sure that was sufficent and got all the salt off my boots as well. Not sure that the best plan but the reel is fine and there is no salt damage on my boots

In my minimal experience I have tied the trailing fly to the bend of the first. larger fly in the back makes it look like a big fish chasing a smaller. Someone told me once its like the way kids behave if someone else wants it, I want it too.

I grew up in the bush in coastal BC, one of my most vivid automobile adventures as a teenager was taking my buddys parents brand new 4 runner for a spin on some loggin roads. Behind that beaver pond that I always talk about there is an old logging road that is now part of the swamp adjacent to it. Well we were having a great time flying through the swamp essentially when suddenly the nose dipped and water was coming over the top of the hood. We made it through but later we stalled the same truck in a rather deep hole. Noone ever did catch us doing this and sometime later the engine of the 4 runner was subject to a recall and the mechanic who did the repair made some off handed comment about water ingress. And Lynn you don't want to hear about the actual bad things we did. Make Hayden drive from your place to downtown via the deerfoot in rush hour that will cure him of his want to drive.

I call it spider rabbit. I replaced the black hen hackle in a spider pattern with rabbit. Makes for a big head but I think it will fish ok.

Just been messing around mostly. Playing with this one I made up using my 2 favorite materials rabbit and foam. I call it the F&F Prawn.

1 simple goal catch my first fish in alberta on the fly that isn't from the bow river. other thoughts include my first bull trout, fish the hills, and more than 10 days on the bow.

I was pondering this morning why I didn't go to look at fly fishing stuff instead of battling the mobs at the malls. Anyone get any good deals yesterday? Who is/was having sales?
