Prescription Sunglasses
darrinhurst replied to mdfcontracting's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I just got myself a pair of Maui Jim's. Hooik'ipa model. I've only worn the prescriptions once, but I've been wearing the standard glasses for a couple years now and LOVE them. Prescriptions appear to be just as good. -
Merry Fishmas and Happy New Gear to all my fellow fly fishers and friends!

Great photos! I'll be sure to give you a follow on Instagram!

Are you asking about the Theatre showing IF4, or the presentation theatre for the seminars at the expo?

You posted this some time ago, and I just go out and buy a pair for any new boot I get. Hardly even wear down, let a lone break.

I do have a narrower foot, and I still find that the Korkers fit fine for me. Much better than simms. I love the boots, but my foot swims in them. I HAVE to get a boot with laces too, as with the BOA, by the time I get the laces tight enough at the top of the foot and the toe, I've lost feeling in my ankle......

I have a pair of the Korkers Buckskin boots. Two seasons in and still going strong. Light in weight and comfy for hiking and wading.

I hear that. Can you tow a drift boat with a Civic? -

Would that include shuttle costs? Would you do the shuttling? I don't have a vehicle that can tow a boat, which is one of the many reasons why I do not have one. (Cost, time and not knowing a damn thing about rowing being the others lol) But I would be open to looking into it as it would be a great day to spend with the kids on the river. -
Ok, he glanced at the pitcher for a fraction of a second before he flipped the bat and ran the bases. I wouldn't call that staring down the pitcher.

I agree with Chrome on this one. I like to see passion in the game. Not just baseball, but any sport for that matter. What's the point of doing it, if you don't love it. I know many guys who hoot an holler when they get a fish on, because it's exciting, it's fun, so why not show it!

Listened to The Hip.... And caught some amazing bulls! This was the bull of the trip for me.... Had to get "artsy" along the way. And finally, a trip to some new water, that I can't wait to get back to again! All in all, a great year, and it isn't even close to over! I can only hope that 2016 is just as good!

Spent some time fishing this year in some great places with several people I am lucky enough to call friends. Most of which, fly fish, so that was a bonus. Spent some time on the Bow.... This was last monday, two absolutely delightful fish, one of which was the biggest brown that I have landed to date! 24" slab that I caught on a boatman on the swing! Some time in the mountains.. And went on a couple trips to some new water, and familiar water... Birthday beers! Obligatory Oilers plug....with the best camping poncho ever!

22 years in the making. They are FINALLY back to the playoffs! Done in fine fashion too! By not only clinching the AL East, but by whomping the Orioles 15-2 to do it! Now they just have to lock up the AL top record, and then have home field for the duration of the playoffs! Bring it boys!

Best Guided Trip You've Ever Done?
darrinhurst replied to jgib01's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Last year in Terrace, BC, we hired a guide for some remote river salmon fishing. Stayed for three nights and four days. Easily 20 fish days every day. Lots of beer, stayed in a cabin on the shore to the channel. Was awesome watching the tide come in and out, and even had a couple orcas come through the channel too! Spey rods, and fresh Coho. The guide had his deep water license and treated us to some amazing fresh crab for dinner one night. Easily the best guided experience I've ever had. Mainly because it's the only one lol Locally, Maxwell Robinson is a great guide who will get you into fish. I float with him once or twice a year and it's always a good time. -
Just awesome Steve-o! Can't wait to go fishin with you again, or fishing at all for that matter lol

How to use a sling pack 101 Walk to river with pack on. Get to run/hole/riffle/tail out Take sling off and put on ground. Fish. Hook fish. Lose said fish. Cast several more times to rising fish. Realize you lost fish cause it broke you off. Bend over to sling pack and put on new fly. Fish. Catch fish. Put sling back on. Move to next hole/run/riffle/tail out Repeat as necessary.

I do a float trip with Max every summer, and the knowledge he has about the river is second to none. He will get you into fish, and even give tips on casting and presentation if needed. Great guide.

That was a big win for the Jays, Hutch finally pitched a game where the offence didn't have to bail him out! Even bigger with for the Indians! Only .5 back of Division lead now!
