  1. Like me, everyone must be fast asleep during this round 2 matchup of Nashville vs Canucks. hopefully Vancouver wins...Wake me up for round 3 please.
  2. A box full of all shapes and sizes and colours of chironomids. Usually all ya need!
  3. No offense, but comparing having your feet down from a pontoon to the way your entire lower half is down from a float tube is like comparing apples to oranges. A float tube can and will get turned over if you run aground in shallower water, whereas a pontoon is stable enough to ride it out, and you CAN tuck your legs up when you get into trouble. I'd never, ever, ever, ever float the bow in a tube... or any river for that matter. one mistake and your done. Once it is upside down it's pretty much game over.
  4. Just to clear something up on #22, that is actually not a choice between only 2 rivers. I will discuss with the winner wether he wants to fish for some special rainbows, learn some new unspoiled cutty water, find a new place to chase browns that like dries, or whatnot. I'd say I'd throw the winner descriptions of at least 5 or 6 neat places and they can choose what they would like out of the day. If the bid goes up over 400 I will throw in an extra 2 dozen hand tied fly assortment for these rivers. Brian
  5. I keep them locked up nice and tight all the way through the fight jump or no jump, keep hard tension on them, as much as possible without breaking the line. You'll get to know your limits and your gear's limits but when you're right up against those limits you will only lose 10-20% of your fish and the other 80% are in your net.
  6. Tip # 1 ( a ) A man can fish his whole life before realizing it's not fish he's after. Tip # 1 ( b ) No food tastes better than the food eaten after a day on the water!!
  7. I can't afford much, but I'll bid $50 for one of the spots on the golden trout trip #16. sure hope that total gets beat but if it doesn't I'll enjoy chasing down a golden, it's on my bucket list!
  8. Thanks guys! I did get out fishing, on the crow, from hwy 507 down and had a bit of a tough one but got a few nice fish to hand despite the rain/snow/sun/wind (repeat 7 times) weather mix!
  9. so sorry to hear this. Hang in there Lynn, you will always be able to find the peacefull bank of a river as a place to remain close.
  10. Rule # 17 the effectiveness of a fly is directly in proportion to how many of that type you have remaining in your box. Rule # 28 if you find a rising fish in a quiet spot in the city, this is the exact moment someone will have an urge to throw a ball for their dog to chase right where your fish was.
  11. That's a great clean looking brown. He looks like he's ready to blast off I bet it was a good scrap!!
  12. awesome! I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  13. just curious as to the 2011 auction. I thought these auctions were sooner in the year but there has been no mention at all of one yet for this year. I'd like to donate a few guided trips as usual when it gets kicked off. cheers. brian
  14. awesome pics and fish, thanks for taking us with you (with the pics).. cheers!
  15. so who thinks they have a shot at the playoffs? too little too late? are we just going to finish in 10th or 9th again and get a bad draft pick again (do we even have one this year??) If our draft pick for next draft is traded away (wouldn't suprise me with all sutter's bad moves, he was a good coach but a TERRIBLE gm...) if the pick isnt there go for the playoff spot it cant hurt... if we do get a pick, TANK IT NOW BOYS you suck and your best efforts barely beat a hapless leafs team last night. I love the flames to death but they are going to have to suck rottenly for a few years here and rebuild through the draft. The window for this team has closed. Too old, too slow now...
  16. College took up most of my time in april to jan, and again in sept to december. I did not get out fishing very much during those times. My summer, however, was great. Spent a lot of time on waters near home here and quite honesty have no real need to travel much more than a half hour anymore for great fishing Had fun on the Bow and Crow too. Had a great day with an old buddy in the middle of summer. Had some phenomenal days guiding. It was a great summer.
  17. ahha, so you were fishing dry/dropper then were ya???
  18. My dad has been looking into getting a camera with a incredible macro function. I know some of you have posted pictures on here that blew my mind... I saw one of a midge where I could count hairs on the legs... so... which camera should I get him to try?? Example pics would be great... I'll be showing dad the images too thanks for any help/ideas guys!
  19. Another fun one to watch for is finding them licking their lips going yummy..... and you have NO IDEA what they just ate.
