Yeah the technical term is called "presenteeism" and I'm currently involved with a project that addressing it in the workplace - I might be affected by it as well )... As you may have also noticed, I have also worked for an airline... Cheers, P -

Sounds good Chris, if you guys have time on your hands on a long weekend and don't have anything better to do... I'm going fishing!! What I'm finding thus far, is some online sites list more airlines then others (not sure why that is) as well different flights as well... But have at'er What we are trying to do is go as directly and inexpensively as possible. Thus far traveling from YYC (Calgary) through LHR (London Heathrow) to BOM (Mumbai) is by far the most direct and inexpensive. Where it get's interesting relates to where we are going from BOM... So to keep it simple heading from YYC to BOM. Dates: October 2 (evening) or Oct. 3 (morning or aft). Be aware of arriving flight times and departing - anything less then a 1 hour connection is probably not going to work... I will be returning Oct 17th from HYD (Hyderabad) back to LHR to YYC, Deb get's to stay an extra week! Have fun, but don't worry about it as I'd rather you all go fishing (if the H20) temp is ok!! Cheers, Peter P.S. For any of you that want to break into our house while we are away, we will have someone staying there, so... But if you do want my junk, I could use a few new things, so go crazy (if you find my portable harddrive, please leave it behind i won't be able to replace some of the photos) and please don't take my fly rods!! Everything of real value will be in a safety deposit box... -
My involvement will be to go and fish the water to see if there was an "educational opportunity", that's it! Oh and to hopefully get into a few fish P

I think Brad hit it on the head, a little courtesy goes a long way! I remember going up to a house on the Oldman and it was the lady's son who owned that portion of the family's land and she said she would give us permission on his behalf... Worked out great!! Peter quote name='bhurt' date='Jul 30 2009, 07:08 PM' post='95349'] Well who wants to come with me, I have absoultle no problem walking up to the establishment and knocking on the door, I will even bring a six pack of beer as a peace offering. When I go out painting landscapes me and a good friend has on numerous occassions knocked on doors and asked for permission and usally the reception is good, only had one bad experince where the owner threaten to let his dog, which he was holding back and snarling at me, after me, I looked down at the dog and then looked back at the owner and told him if he wanted to press the issuse and let his dog go the dog better kill me else I would burn his house down at a later date, end result he let me onto his land after he realize what he said and once I had a painting done I left it in his mail box with a small note saying thank you for letting me onto his property. Most land owners I have come across or have heard stories about have no problems with people on their land, the key to it as it was pointed out to me, is just to say May I please cross your land in a curtious manner so I can get to the river? Most of the time they all say yes, and as it was pointed out to me by another board member bring beer as a peace offering and every time you cross the land leave a six pack on their front door, its amazing what beer can do.

Why not include the fact that they (we) have to disclose if they (we) are affiliated with a store, are a guide or prostaff, rep, etc., as some may be biased towards specific gear, store, etc.? Just a thought... P -

I've also heard that people have had good exp. with hotwire, etc. But I'm nt sure you could use them to book lodging in India P -
We're planning a trip in the fall and are considering booking through Expedia, iTravel2000, Travelosity, etc. (over direct through an airline - but might do that, as well). We are looking at flight only. Anyone have any good/bad expereinces, tips, advise, etc. We would also consider a convential travel agency if anyone has a reco for that, as well... Peter

The latter... P -
Yeah shaw's is confusing as well... Just the way they have all the channels for the different cities on the same page.. I guess I would think it could be listed differently, simpler... Separate it into individual docs... This is where you live, this is what you get if you have "x" package and this is the price, as opposed to grouping all the info together P

Wow, is that not a confusing document to understand!! P http://www.telus.com/imagineportal/Upload/....pdf?_region=AB

And crack's cheaper!! Not as much fun (I would think), but cheaper P

So why are the ligitimate atv'ers not pissed off more about the illigitimate offenders... I think this issue (like mountain biking, skateboarders, etc.) needs to include (if not be lead by) ligitimate users that are getting a bad name from all the a$$holes... My original post from the Castle was about what I saw and expereinced first hand. I saw very little, if any respectful use where I was, so I based my comments/opinions on what I saw... I am an avid mtn. biker and I always comment positively when I see horse back riders and or other mtn. bikers respecting eachother on the trails (mtn. biker getting off and passing on the low side of the trail, for example). Also, I get out (regularly) with someone that owns a jet boat on the Bow and do so b/c he lets drift boats go first down a run and looks to see if there are drift boats coming down before he moves spots... If I see an ATVer acting responsibly, I will comment postitively to them directly... I just haven't seen it! *Edit* I also give other backpakers $hit for disrespecting pristene mtn. environments I see them abusing, as well... P

What's the "contract" like?! Can you get out of it without pentalty. I've heard from a few that it's not all that great (the tv and I've had shitty exp. with telus internet and cell service)... And totally unrelated to what you asked, their Human Resources services (which is who the Health Region uses), SUCK as well!! Just my opinion, though... P
