  1. Thanks for all the responses... I've been getting pretty consistant info (which is good). The only thing that wasn't included in the estimate was "water & ice shield" and a "drip edge", which probably weren't on our roof originally, but I'd like them to be added tot he job (out of pocket, of course)... Thanks again, P
  2. As I mentioned, I've never dealt with a claim before (nor an insurance company)... I have also heard that insurance companies try to screw people so just wanted to get some info... Thanks for your input! P
  3. Nice one Craig! P
  4. Gang, This is the 1st time I've dealt with an insurance company for a claim like this... I finally received the estimate from my insurance company regarding the claim for hail damage on our roof... A couple of things... The insurance company/adjuster had "their" contractor (estimator) provide the estimate and when I inquired as to getting other estimates done, the response (from the adjuster) was, sure you can get other estimates, (or have the work done by somebody else) as long as they are lower then the estimate that our guy gave!! Huh!! 1st of all, isn't the contractor that they had provide the estimate, a bit of a conflict of interest?! What happens if I get a couple of other estimates (within the same specs) and they come in higher?! Can anyone provide some opinon/advice on what my options are... Thanks, in advance, Peter
  5. Unfortunately Druh is still ours!!
  6. The more interesting interview was he previous one with the arts supporters asking her questions... She was BRUTAL! Didn't know which camera to look at (wasn't being directed by anyone ) and didn't even answer their questions!! P
  7. The cork looks custom!!
  8. Here's a pre-owned Redington 9'6 CPX on Kijiji.. See if the guy wants to deal! At least take it for test drive... http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-sp...QAdIdZ223986579 P
  9. Is it worth sealing new concrete (*edit* specifically a concrete driveway)?! Opinions, experiences sought... Thanks in advance. P
  10. Yup! He's the one and only BBT! P
  11. Mike, Here is a link to a "Midcurrents" article http://www.midcurrent.com/flyfishing/singlehand_spey.aspx Also a few weeks ago The New Fly Fisher had an episode on Spey and switch rods/casting and he went through a very simple spey cast for a single hander, from what I recall... P
  12. How 'bout a bump there Biran! P
  13. Thanks Colin, but what channel is it?! P
  14. Very cool! Congrats! P
  15. LoL!! Yeah and for the fact that I am anything but a "Classic Rock" guy, nor a "Sports" guy (2nd most popular Sirrius station listened to on the trip was ESPN!)! LoL But being in the minority (and with the fear of being thrown out of said "industructible" vehicle and down those cliffs we drove past at 90km/h), I decided to take the high road and keep my mouth shut!! LoL P P.S Funny thing is Rick, that song from the 70's/80's that you predicted would be a hit and it didn't (Billy Thorpe's - "Children of the Sun" - How the hell did I just remember that?!)! I caught myself singing the chorus yesterday!! P.S.S. Colin (CDone), what the hell was that AWESOME Sirrius 80's alternative station we listened to on the way to and from Don's fish study trip near Caroline?! I need to tattoo it on myself so that when asked "if you have a station you want to listen to" I can actually come up with an answer!!
  16. Normally, just go with 4' - 6' of "tippet" (from the line I use straight mono with a loop to loop setup) with no leader (but there are exceptions, obviously depending on how deep the water is that you are fishing, speed of current and if you are using a floating line, sinking line, sink tip, weighted or unweighted streamer, etc... P
  17. Though I cannot specifically speak about the photo that is being considered, when traveling in some remote places in Thailand, "it" goes right into the river!! P
  18. Actually Steve, I gave Rick 10 to 1 odds that Chris was the one that was going in for a swim, as he was wearing the studded Simms "Stream Treads" and they were definitely NOT the ticket on day 2!! Quite dangerous, actually!! P
  19. I did find it curious as to why I (who was in the front passanger seat) was always looking down the middle of our lane!! LoL I ain't admitting to noth'in! LoL P
  20. Correction - the exception is Arenas and Leisure Centre's (in Calgary - can't speak for any other municipality)!! P
  21. Leave me outta this one Rick! You never heard a "peep" outta me (only when you hit that big boulder and that's b/c it scared the $hit outta me!)!! Chris was the one cowering in the backseat!! LoL P
  22. Unfortunately Don, "fishing" doesn't generate the same amount of tax revenue (even the residual spent on gear, etc.) that "golf courses" and "arenas", (specifically) do - less so with golf b/c the season is so short and the maintenance costs are so high (all other forms of "public recreation", i.e. sports fields, pools, libraries, etc. lose $ annually), so unless a municipality wants to start charging for boat launches (or to use the new kayaking course, as an example), or to fish the lakes, rivers and streams, "it ain't gonna happen"! P
  23. Rick, Your wife and sister-in-law are both getting boxes of "Bounce" in their Christmas stockings from BBT and I!! LoL P
