Chris... Mine doesn't fit within your scale as it was 25.5" so do we call it 25 or 26?! LoL P -
I'm wondering if after you fill with concrete if you can get them rubber coated (not sure what that would cost) b/c I'm pretty sure rust will be an issue (not with disintegrating them, but the likely mess they would make in the back of the vehicle)... Either way, nice job! I'd take one off your hands (I'd evaluate it for you )!! P
-
How much do they weigh (with and with out the concrete)? Oh and are they stainless steel/galvanized, etc. or will they rust? Thanks, P

Just tell them that there has been a lot of car b & e's in the neighborhood, worked for me a few weeks ago, they replaced the bulb toot sweet!! P

I was fishing on Friday near an area I like to fish on a regular basis (as the regular run I like, already had a couple of anglers in it)... Across the river was a older gentlemen and we were chatting back and forth (as both of us landed fish regularly). He was on the west side and it's normally quite busy (he was there before I even arrived). Through out the course of the next several (3) hours... About 12 other people (both gear and fly) anglers would just step in either above him or below him - but all really close (interesting that none of them landed anything). He just quietly fished either above them or below them and did not say anything ... Towards the end of the day (late afternoon) I finally had to bring it up as I was quite shocked... "interesting that not one person asked if you would mind if they fished near you" I yelled across to him... He just said yeah, shook his head and left it at that... I guess it didn't bother him too much... I'm glad no one else was on my side of the river, but then again, that's why I fish the places I do (similar to what Rick had mentioned)... Though it still bothered me to be witness to this!! P

There is a parts place next to UPS on 19th NE (I think). Have always been able to get appliance parts for me... I can try to find some receipts to get the name if you'd like... P -
Gee Rick, sounds like you don't wanna fish with me P

Ever Have Your Line Depart From Backing?
ÜberFly replied to Mudflap's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Does Dacron degrade after be soaked and stored over long periods of time... I mean how many of us dry our lines and our backing? Does backing rot? P -
You don't go into specifics as to why you hate your Redington? If it's a case of how it "feels" or "casts" then maybe you need to under/over line it or try and "balance" it properly?! Spending ~$80 on another line may save you $500 - $600 in the long run. Also, there are a couple of 5 wt & 6 wt rods on the trading post thread that might do the trick, as well... You don't need to spend a lot of $ on a rod to enjoy... If you are catching fish with a lower end rod, you are still catching fish... P

No real hard and fast rules, per se, but some generally accepted practices... As far as distance between anglers, it really depends as people that are fishing together (i.e., if they are friends, etc.) usually fish closer together then strangers. As a general rule any where from 50 - 100 meters (but others may disagree). I have asked people (and offered) to share a particular pool/run and some people are ok with this and some are not... Some people fish down to up, others fish up to down. Best is to ask them if they are working their way up or down and then you will know... Usually dependant on what technique they are fishing (dry, nymphing, wet/streamer, etc.). "Usually" the people fishing from the boat give way to the wading angler - but many (not all) don't know or even care... Lastly, there is a lot of water to fish on the Bow, so if it's looking like there is going to be a "confrontation", be the better person and move as you do not want it to ruin your day... Hope this helps, I'm sure others will add their comments, as well. Cheers, P

River (obviously The Bow) Advice
ÜberFly replied to jriad's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
All the fish we hooked this past weekend (there weren't all that many ) were in 3' - 4' of walking paced water... NOTHING in anything deeper or faster then that. It took us a while to realize this!! P -
I Plain Don't Get It
ÜberFly replied to DonAndersen's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Having lived in the states for 3 years, I have heard horror stories about HMOs... Most often a committee decides whether you receive treatment or not (in simplistic terms) and if it costs them too much, they drop you (you do not receive treatment)... P -
As you have probably read over the last several weeks - small black stones (I use an AP nymph and turn the body around so the wings & tail look like legs) or black prince, caddis larva, and chironie/midge patterns in the 12 - 16 size depending on clarity have been producing along with many you have mentioned... Don, I think the healthcare lobby (read insurance companies and pharma) are going to lose billions!! That's why there was so much resistance! P -
That's a great film!! They don't make them like that anymore!! P

Interesting the Hydros isn't included in the 25 year Guarantee?! It's only a few $100s less!! P

Anyway... Back to the topic at hand... So how is it that a particular rod is known to be "tip heavy" ?! Is it related to casting style (fulcrum point, etc.) and/or form... Or are there rods that are known to be tip heavy vs. butt heavy, etc... If so, why isn't there info available for specific reel recos for a particular rod (manufactures reco specific lines)? Also, to further complicate this discussion... Someone like Tungsten (who is 6'6") vs. myself (who is 5'10") is going to experience casting totally differently (from a biomechanics perspective - trying to control for casting style/form - if possible). So is it more "preferenece" or rod design that determines "tip heaviness", etc. and therefore balance? I guess this is a perfect question for Jack or Don (I'm sure a few others, as well). P

Balderdash! What was last weeks hijack with the whole "google" thing?! Either way your always chiming in with some cheeky/snarky comment... Oh I forgot.. You can't take it, only dish it (we've established that already). And for the record, you never did explain how I misspelled "Sheesh" P
-
How's that?! Please explain!? sheesh (s̸hēs̸h) interjection used variously to express disbelief, surprise, annoyance, etc. So it's ok when others ask questions and you ride their ass, eh!! Sheesh!!

Come on birchy, that's all a bunch of folly seeing that it's from some useless internet site!! Couldn't you have posted something with some "real world" value!! Sheesh!!
