Hmmm.... Not sure I follow?! Iodine is brown and the neoprene booties are black/brown, so I don't think there will be much of a contrast... With previous pairs of waders I've used the isopropyl alcohol trick (if that's what you are referring to) on the laminate and it works like a charm, if that's the trick you are thinking of for the neoprene bootie... If I'm missing something feel free to PM me! I might try filling the inside and looking for leaks on the outside, but that might defy the laws of physics if the outside hole/leak is above the pinholes on the inside, like I suspect (unless the water wicks upwards along the seam channel?!)... Thanks anyway! P

Thanks Chris! That might be my next move, but I would be more interested in sealing from the source (but that might be more of a headache then it's worth). P

Ok I’m stumped, time for your help! I have a leaky left bootie on my waders. The leak is in the left heel, I can see where the water is leaking through (along the seam tape on the INSIDE - looks like two pinholes in the inside seam tape)… Here’s the mystery, I’ve patched the seam tape on the OUTSIDE (slightly above, slightly below and around where the leak is on the INSIDE), but it’s still coming in (slowly, but still leaking…). The inside seam tape on the heel is the only leak! Ok so my thoughts are that the water is being channeled along the seam (tape) at some point above and then leaks in below at the the two pinholes. Do I patch the entire seam on the OUTSIDE in hopes that it stops the water coming into that seamed channel or do I put some aquaseal on the inside where the two pinholes are?! If the latter, will the water not find another place to seep in, if in fact it’s being channeled down the seam?! Peter P.S. What I'm trying to avoid is aquasealing the entire bootie

Yup! Unless you are a guide/outfitter and you have your company name on your boat.

Brian, I guess it would also depend on who is teaching the course and what their qualifications are?! Are they some dude from the dealership or someone from "Transport Canada" with a few credentials under their belt!! If it's some punky kid that doesn't know a "truckers hitch" from a "granny knot", then I probably wouldn't bother! Also, is there even an "approved" program in which to offer or is it just something the manager's kid put together as a summer job!? P
-
One that does both! More versatile depending on the depth of the water, if I'm hanging a net from the neck strap, etc. P

Within Fish Creek Park would probably be the easiest, presuming of course you are mobile. Please note the regs as there are sections of the Bow that are now closed! P

Think I Have Finally Gone Crazy

Unfortunately for Brad, management is (usually) exempt from OT (unless he is able to take time in lieu)!! -
They use a specific kind of rubber - similar to the rubber used in climbing shoes!! It's much softer and grippier then the rubber used for hiking shoes/boots! Oh I should add that the "sticky rubber" type of boots that SIMMS and others currently offer have their pros & cons (lots of reviews on those on here and other sites). P P.S. I paid a little more then what you paid for your cheapies on a pair of Patagonia Riverwalkers ($160 on sale) and got 3+ seasons (of hard use) out of them before they started to break down... I sent them back to patagonia and got full warrantee on them (unfortunately they didn't have my size in Canada so they gave me the cash equivalent)! You get what you pay for IMHO!

I guess you could play tennis in bedroom slippers too!! Seriously, though... Are you planning to use these just for winter fishing?! Will you be putting stainless steel screws in the bottom for studs?! Probably would work, but might be a bit heavy and slow to drain water, plus if you use them within the shoulder season, I would think the rubber on hiking boots would be fairly stiff and not all that grippy on wet rocks & weeds, etc.!?! Also, most hiking boots have some sort of foam used in the upper so that might soak up a lot of water and cause them to be even heavier?! P

Wow looks like a heck of an effort! Nice work! I'm curious, however... I thought people wanted to rid the system of brookies?! P

What Makes An Experienced Fisherman?
ÜberFly replied to cgyguy's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Experience as a general concept comprises knowledge of or skill in or observation of some thing or some event gained through involvement in or exposure to that thing or event. *edit* I don't think it's as easy as providing a definition, as everyone's own "individual" experiences can offer something of value to themselves or someone elses "experience"... How Do You Store Your Rod Tubes?!
ÜberFly replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Ryan, Seriously!! Didn't think those came in 4 1/2' (double rod tube) lengths... I mean I also have 2 piece rods, 3 piece rods, 4 piece rods and 5 piece rods ranging from 21" all the way to 54" tube lengths... P -
Who cares! We live in Calgary and of course choose to support all the great site sponsor shops!! P
-
Just curious... How does everyone store their rod tubes (other then crammed in the corner of their storage room)?! I was thinking of building a rack (picture a box with [modified] lattice on the top). Anyone have any other interesting (creative) ideas? P

You could contact SilverDoctor, I know he has some (and uses on occasion) silk lines and may in fact know where to get a hold of some (or may let you try his). Or Dutchie as he deals in antique gear... P

Yup you're right Marc! I just received our renewal statement and ours went up from ~$54 to ~$73 (~ 25%) and we haven't even decided on what to do with this particular claim.... Might be time to look else where to see if we can save a few $... P -
I hope the "boys" set a good example and actually wear PFDs both on and off the air!! P
