  1. Don, I gave up on TUC many years ago. Just after the infamous attempt to 'take over' the board, when the board was asked about finances and salaries and the answer was 'None of you ****ing business' to quote the board chair (don't recall his name). That was all I needed to hear..........
  2. Interesting research in flow requirements for fish success. http://www.cawthron.org.nz/coastal-freshwater/news/2017/cawthron-research-shows-greater-river-flow-needed-fish-growth-and-abundance/
  3. Am I the only one who keeps getting the no new posts message EVERYTIME, no matter what computer I'm using??
  4. Keep the RAP line in your fave's list for easy access!!
  5. Any wagers on SE BC also being infected? Me thinks it's there!
  6. I'd say no to Bullie - head too short, mouth too small. Not a brookie. So, prob arctic char. Caught where.
  7. Jordan: 'I think you'd have to be pretty naive to think the NDP will secure a second term.' Based on? your hopes? Don't be so sure that there aren't a whole bunch of us lefties who think that at least two terms are needed to accomplish much.
  8. Jordan. Fished Moab in a thunderstorm about 30 years ago. Short walk with a belly boat. Curry's used to have a couple boats tethered there. They supplied oars and pfds at the shop. Don't know if they still do this.
  9. Two years ago today. A sad one for the fisheries of Alberta. Miss you, buddy. Your stories, your knowledge, your special friendship.
  10. Monger: I wonder???? The upper Bow has NOT seen a real recovery of the stonefly population post the flooding and silting events that decimated it in the years prior to 'the flood'. In this case the recovery has been slow at best.
  11. Just maybe, if idiots doing stupid stuff had to actually PAY for their rescue ......... Wait, then they'd have to take responsibility for the mess they have GOTTEN THEMSELVES into. Not gonna happen any time soon.
  12. Conor, I have an antique secretary in the living room. The top on a true secretary is sloped as it hinges at the front lip of the lower part of the cabinet. It also has support arms that extend as the top is lowered This is actually a two piece unit. Not sure what to call it, maybe quasi-secretary. Would be quite easy to replicate.
  13. Hmph. You know Mel. As if that's gonna happen.
  14. Do they carry more than 1 model? Which did you get?, Cost? I will be in CGY next week and will check. Tks
  15. Ottlite makes many models. Which one are you using?
  16. Picked this up (NB dropbox link) at a local thrift shop. It's going to make a perfect tying desk/ storage unit. The drawers are bit crammed but everything I currently own as far a tyiing tools and materials fits somewhere. I have the pictured bridge lamp with a new LED bulb, but am looking for something a bit more directional. It need to have not too large a, but heavy, base, be 5000k, dimmable, max about 6 watts, be readily adjustable and not get in the way. What are you using.
  17. As SD aluded drift boats are for drifting. They don't make good flat water craft - tough to troll holding a rod and oars. Don't anchor well in the wind. I've got a 12' tinnie a HYDE lopro and a pontoon. Pontoon has only seen water once in many years. Used only to float pool to pool. Tinnie is for lakes. 9.9 to get to the end of the lake. Electric for slow moving and fish spotting. No one boat will do it all.
  18. I'm in the same quandary. Summer/vacation property: no phone, no cable. Nothing over air. 4 bars cell. Interested in the major channels including SN and TSN for LIVE programming. NOT interested in watching most of the crap that is or has been on TV. NOT interested in movies. Don't really want to pay a significant amount per month as we'll only be there a few weeks in summer and the odd few day trip over the year. I discovered, by watching a replay of game 7 of the World Series internet is expensive. 2 1/2 hours of viewing ate up almost 4k or almost all my monthly allotment
  19. I dump ALL my 'end of summer' fuels, mixed or straight, into the car. Been doing this for .. (jees, I can't admit to how long, people will think I'm old) Never had an issue. Just do it with a near full tank so it is well mixed. A few ounces of oil per 50ish litres is pretty minuscule.
  20. Uber Tks I'll give him a call. Tks others too. Need a 'no phone needed' system as there will be no active phone line. For insurance to be satisfied need to have flood and temperature sensors - OR a home check every 3 days. THAT works out to $200 a month.
