  1. Lumix ............. great camera. Does it all.
  2. I'm needing to get a new topper. Have identified two options: Raider Sierra or Capit 122. Any comments on one brand vs the other.
  3. Need to replace our stove. Had a ceran top and hated it. Top broke on the weekend and repair sounds exorbitant and pi$$y with tough modifications for different top thickness, sooooooo time to shop. Both of us grew up with gas stoves and are looking at this for our replacement. Looking for pros, cons, recommendations. Gas top w/ gas oven or electric oven? Makes and models both good and to avoid? Don't want to spend a ton.
  4. Having ACL done 2x I do have 'some' experience. Your orthopod will tell all. Count on a few days of pain. If you can, go for alografts' (bits of dead guy - tendon harvested from cadavers). Saves on a second surgery site for harvesting some of your hamstring, which is usually their 1st choice, and less to heal. Once swelling is down there will be at least 4-6 weeks of physio. A knee brace for 6 to 8 months. Full use in 9 to 12 months. I wore my brace for 2 additional winter seasons for hockey and skiing. I assume you have blown both ACL and MCL? I found the recovery from knee surgery more difficult than from hip replacement. All the best............
  5. No comparison. THE BOW!!!!
  6. A likeable 'grumpy' .. Fish on ..... RIP
  7. Vagabond : Just people who feel that the signage does not apply to them, sort of like the 'entitlement' the senators feel
  8. Thanks What I am looking for are a number of things. Considering challenging the second class 're-certification' exam after 25 years out of the industry. ABSA has told me it is a 50 question multiple choice exam. Sounds easy but...... I have none of the required study materials any more. So what I search for is: Someone who has challenged the re-certification and can give a few hints as to types of questions. Someone who has the SAIT 2nd class materials willing to lend for 6 months. The position I am looking at requires only a 5th class but I would have to retake the whole 5th exam. ABSA is not keen on lowering ones level of qualifiaction and indicate the re-certification is easier. Thanks Don
  9. Any current or recent 2nd's out there?? Looking for some assistance / info. Tks
  10. Had one. Tried it a few times ........... threw it in the river in frustration. Waste of time and money. Fingers or hemostats work just great!!!!
  11. Grinr; but there are many ways to be supportive and work towards something WITHOUT marching on the streets and no need to fear being identified.
  12. Ya really can't go wrong with the 333 - used 'em for years.
  13. I am unable to send from apple mail 4.4 (1082) The history: I have been using mail successfully for a number of years. I want to be able to access my emails from iMac, Macbook Pro, and iPhone4. Today I had my email service provider (Telus) change me over to an IMAP account from a POP account. Which essentially has shut down one and set a new account as IMAP. I have successfully set up the account with mail on the new macbook running 10.6.6 and iPhone4 for both sending and receiving. However, I am unable to send from the older iMac also running 10.6.6 which worked perfectly when set as POP. Now I can receive but cannot send. I talked to apple support to set up macbook and iPhone4. They were kind enough to also instruct me for iMac even though apple care expired a few days ago. When I was unable to send I next contacted the phone company. They spent about ½ hour trying all kinds of stuff as I watched (remote log in). In the end I was told there is an issue with 10.6.6. I explained this appeared not to be the case as the macbook using 10.6.6 works but iMac with 10.6.6 and exactly the same setting doesn’t. Telus reiterated the troublw is with IOS 10.6.6 And the iMac is the most critical of the three. So, now what can I try???? Any ideas???
  14. Got to replace a couple of furnaces. Have two quotes. One at $7500 for a 'Tempstar' (never heard of them) and one at nearly $12000 for a Carrier. Who's gone through this recently?? Any installers with comments?? Any comments on the 'cheaper' Tempstar. How long they been around?? warranty issues?? troubles??

  16. OK, so here's the deal ........ I have a lapsed 2nd class ticket and am about to get back in to the field after 23 years doing other things. I will need to write a re-certification exam. So my ??? - anybody gone thru this process?? Any advice hints pointers as to what that exam might look like. How difficult etc??? oh btw wish me luck for Monday interview.
  17. Need to get a new piece of foam for the overnighters I'm planning. Used to get it at places like Ribtor. Called Campers Village and $150 is too steep for a 30X75 (uncovered) IMO. Labbe bedding want more but covered. Is there no such thing as a $50 bit of foam. Am I showing my age yet??
  18. Tks guys j: &g Hi back !!
  19. We are about to head out for our first trip with new TT - Jayflight 22FB. We had a camper with solar panel - no solar yet for tt. so ?? The set up for mounting batteries will fit 2 24's, but I have 2 27's. What set ups do others use for mounting and covering a pair of 27's? Does it matter where on the tongue they go? That could alleviate some considerations. Would I be better off, in terms of power stored getting a pair, or even 4 6v and set up accordingly? To operate an electric fishing motor - I need to replace 24's here - would a pair of 6v run longer?
  20. hopdrop: I touched up a few dings in the chines with 3M below water line fibreglass repair. Worked like a charm so long as u don't mind the blue tinge it hardens with. Never bothered to paint and gelcoat - as only visible on the trailer.
  21. I am looking to replace the crappy old plastic bed liner on a '97 F250. Wanna buy or build a plywood liner. Anybody know where to get plans for, or a kit for a plywood liner????
  22. Looking for a couple of nights in the pass, much preferably within walking distance of some water to fish after dinner. Any recommendations much appreciated.
  23. OK, so we've sold ur camper and are about to buy a smallish trailer (24' seem awfully big compared to our camper) We've narrowed it down to two makes/models. Those are the Jayco G2 23FB and the Palimino Puma 23FB. Anybody got any good/bad stories about these or the dealers - Sunridge and Field of Dream.?? Tks in advance
  24. Done!!! no probs - other than time. Up and running just fine.
  25. Assume the 'Toshiba Product Recover' Disks are the ones to boot from, then add Windows and other softeware.
