I'd encourage everyone to write Mr. Jean and let him know what you think of this. Brian.Jean@Assembly.ab.ca Legislature Office5th Floor9820 - 107 StreetEdmonton, ABCanada T5K 1E7 1 Quote

adams Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Now I'm in a quandary.....never voted anything but right wing all my life but I strongly agree with the Ndp direction in the Castle and wish they would expand it. 2 Quote

Well, even though I'm one of those socialist lefties I'll help you out. First, you can start by writing a letter to Mr. Jean as one of his voters stating that if he were to roll back all the changes that he would lose your vote. Second, if he does not change his stance and the WRP merges with the Conservatives you can buy a membership and support another leadership candidate - one who will not roll back the changes. Third, if you haven't already, fill out the survey stating your support for the changes. If the majority of the people who fill out the survey support the changes then no politician in their right mind would continue to say they'll roll them back. If all that fails I guess I'll see you at our next meeting, comrade 1 Quote

I've had some great conversations with Jason about this topic and he's more interested in a thoughtful approach on this issue. Brian seems more interested in parroting what OHV groups tell him to say. There are going to be lots of opportunities for conservatives to make their mark on this issue - let's just hope the mark is a positive one. Quote

jpinkster Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 I think you'd have to be pretty naive to think the NDP will secure a second term. I'm planning on doing what I can to shift the conversation within conservative circles to a place where better stewardship is a point of priority. Quote

bcubed Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I'd be hard pressed to see another NDP mandate, there was a lot of anger votes that went there way, that wont in the next election.. Hoping they at least realise that, and dont give easy-outs to the next party on things like the Castle. They're already backtracking a litle too far for me Quote

I don't disagree that many changes have been for the better and it will probably take multiple terms to institutionalize some of these changes. That doesn't mean it's going to happen. Quote

And amidst all the other messes they will have to clean up, I am hopeful it is higher on the agenda as well. This province needs to quit ignoring the environment and taking it for granted. Responsbile management and resource development is crucial at this point in time. Quote
