fishinglibin Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 What duties do you need volunteers for? Quote
Jayhad Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I would assume the Bow is going to be the fishery? Quote
darrinhurst Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I new about this quite a few months ago! So it's not knew knews to you then? Quote
CDone Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 What duties do you need volunteers for? Controllers, Sector Judges, Transportation and other various opportunities I would assume the Bow is going to be the fishery? Sectors will be divided up along the Bow, and I believe Chain Lakes will be the stillwater venue. Again, lots more info to come, and I'm sure that others who are members of the organizing committee as well as members of this board will add as well. Colin 1 Quote
bigbowtrout Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I new about this quite a few months ago! Did a Bird tell you? Why Chain? Quote
ÜberFly Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 No not a bird, per se, but I think Colin mentioned it last time we were out fishing! Quote
trailhead Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 There is a contingent from the Hook and Hackle spearheading this. There was an effort made to not release too much information because a lot of the details have yet to be decided. The stillwater venue is Chain because there are complicated transportation logistics and cost factors involved. Some other water bodies were considered but they did not meet the necessary criteria. Guest Wrecker Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 how do you rent a stretch of public river or lake for an event like this? Quote
jasonvilly Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 How does one compete in the nationals? Is there a regional qualifier or something of the matter? I would hope it would be a local or board member who wins. Please keep us informed of how we can volunteer, I would be willing to help. Quote
CDone Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Lots of info about the competitions, FIPS Mouche rules, competitor and volunteer sign up sheets here http://www.flyfishingcanada.net/ . As well we will have a booth set up at the WCFF expo, there will be sign up sheets there as well. Colin Quote
