  3. lol. carl. i will put some aside. and i wont give it to brookwell to give to you because you would never get it. silver doctor, i am bringing some to the hook and hackle meeting on wednesday. if you dont make it i will put some aside. that's about all the hair i have folks as a few people have pm'd me as well. if i have any more i will let you know
  4. if youa re in left, go over to wholesale and take a look at the catolouge. if they dont have it they can bring something in from another store. i started out with a $60, no name vise and i still use it as my portable. look for something that doesnt look flimsy. i have heard lots of stories about jaws chipping because they are too fine and the hooks too big and not put in the vise properly. also check with the local TU chapter, they may have or know of winter tying leasons in the area. or help on a few simple starter patterns, get those materials and work from there.
  5. i can do that. probably towards the end of the week.
  6. my taxidermist sent me home with a large bag of buffalo. if anyone needs some, send me a pm.
  7. nice pic.lol fished a couple of lakes ne of calgary this weekend. pike and rainbow seem to be fairing well in the lakes. hell what's a little water to fish. the fishermen on the other hand were all soaked, cold and grumpy within 4 hours... except for the 2 of us who actually caught fish. the roads on the other hand not so good, there were more ducks in the ponds where the road used to be than there were in the lakes. go figure. some of the farmers fields were almost completely under water. cant wait for the days to start getting shorter. thanks clive...
  8. is that the same bird that was down at police outpost lake making noise and getting it on in the weeds... everywhere
  9. great pics. nice looking fish.
  10. pls take the crappy weather with you and exchange it for +25. or 80F whichever... i'll cover the duty on the import. or do the nafta rules apply... have fun, take lots of pics.

  12. me thinks that was what grandpa moses fish was trying to do... but managed the wrong nibble on the wrong bug
  13. i feel your pain... i went from -4 when i left early april, to 17 in brazil, to 30+ crossing the atlantic to 9 in most of central europe and +2 this morning when i went to work. i froze my butt off friday night sleeping at police lake, but could have been because i fell asleep by the fire after a bottle of wine at 1 am and didnt get fully in to my sleeping bag when i was told to go to bed... or it could be the global warming...
  14. all i know is a friend of mine goes there most weekends and for this weekend she is going up after work on wednesday so she can get a spot close to the water for fishing. i have heard a few stories of blood indian getting busy. but i havent fished or camped there yet...

  16. i so hope i can get down there for a month sometime in the next couple of years... sigh.
  17. yeah, i was also admiring that set up... i even managed 1 more this afternoon from the dock. is it a little over kill to catch a 10inch fish on a 15 ft 10wt spey??? i didnt even know he was there, poor thing. LOL. he almost ended up going for a ride. at least i know that weeds do not give head shakes... thanks again Al. i am now convinced that Clive is a legend, a myth, the stuff of folklore and tall tails. once again i head south in hopes of meeting the infamous Clive, with offerings of Cuban Cigars... and nope, no Clive. Murray got the Cuban... maybe next time. if there really is a Clive

  21. i live near country hills. honestly i think the closest would be ghost resiviour outside of cochrane to the west off of hwy 1A. there might be one in airdrie but i'm sure. if you like pike you can try chestermere to the east. i have fished arbour lake. it is small but the fish are fun. everyone has a differnt opinion about eating the fish. personally i dont but thats just me
