  1. Wow beauty shots
  2. I use standard Craft Foam Sheets, cut in quarter inch strips cut to a point and wound in touching strips on the hook. Be carful not to wind it too tight or you will destroy the flotation properties.
  3. Love Bamboo and fish it often. Have a variety of them of different weights and lengths. Have caught most game fish species. A couple of the rods have fished through three generations of my family and are still great rods. Kind of funny, the only rod I’ve ever broken in my 63 years was a recently purchased high tec $800 model. Never had a bamboo go on me.
  4. You might try doing some stimmis with foam bodies. Float really nice.
  5. It is illegal but I really do wish we had more info on this and the opportunity to cull fish infected out of the system but right now the law doesn’t allow it. It seems to be a particularly bad year for the fungus; I have seen it most years but never as bad as this. It really does seem to rear it’s head during the fall in spawning fish, and I imagine other Trout pick it up from damaged spawner's. I remember seeing this in BC with the Kokanee during the spawn cycle on some of the inland lakes. I’ve read that the instance is much higher among male large fish as males fight over females and territory. I would imagine if you are using a cloth mesh net you will encourage spread of the infection, something to think about.
  6. A waterborne fungus like this from what I gather will attack a Trout that has had its protective slime compromised. Spawning battles will do it along with poor fish handling techniques. Please use care in catch and release.

  8. Excellent build, looks like it will be a gem on pothole lakes. Congratulatons
  9. Had a good time Sunday attending a seminar hosted by Fishtails, nice new shop with their expansion. One of our great local guides Max Robinson gave a wonderful presentation on Late Season Tactics for Trout on the Bow. Reading water, set ups, rods, rigging and some great information on winter safety. I would like to remind you that many of our Calgary fly shop sponsors, run free winter seminars on a variety of subjects. These are a great way to relieve those winter doldrums. Check out the sponsors area on their web sites for dates and come on out, learn some stuff and meet some great people. They also run some great courses for those that want to learn to tie flies, rod build etc.
  10. Migration time
  11. That is a really nice Caddis Jordo, I've tied a bit with Etha material and it's nice. Will be experimenting with it this winter also, alothugh I found some computer packing material that looks the same. Here's a full dress Royal Coachman classic wet fly that I just finished.

  22. Have a great day and many happy returns.
  23. Just a few cautionary few words. Bear spray used on people (even if they bairly qualify) should be thought out carefully. From a legal point of view it will be considered a weapon. I never carry it inside city limits but have seen fishhers that do.
  24. Poachers don't want to be caught. Had a few run in's on the water but non near as bad as this. http://www.globaltvc...9651/story.html
