I completely agree with SundanceFisher. I think it's a joke that there is nothing in place whatsoever to ensure those licensed to fish understand anything about species, rules and regs, catch a release tactics. Just one more embarrassing flaw in Alberta's fisheries management.

I personally witnessed a teenage kid catch a 32" brown (taped) below Mckinnon flats about 4 years ago on a spinner. Unfortunately it floated down the river belly up since they held in in a net for 10 minutes while one of them hiked to a truck on private property to get a camera. they tried to revive it for about another 10 minutes but I'm guessing it didn't survive.

I think the fisherman was in the wrong here. On another dog note (highjack sorry) I camped near water valley this weekend and was blown away by the number of un-leashed dogs at the campground. It seemed like every camp had 1-3 dogs. Saw a half dozen dog fights, hear about 10 others. One of the guys from our camp was bitten by one as he was asking the neighbor camp if they would like to join us for some beverages. I was afraid to let my kids walk around the campground. Another thing that bothered my was 1/3 of the dogs seemed to be either pitbulls or pittbull cross. Never understood why guys would go out of their way to own a pittbull. :Hi jack:

Bought a pair about 4 years ago as well. Inside seams blew apart after about 10 trips. Wasn't impressed but was stoked when country pleasures warrantied them no questions asked!

Rogers is a criminal organization. They tried to blackmail me into paying a bogus phone bill (phone was not even charged or used during this time period) a couple of years ago. It was ridiculous how they went about it. I don't want to get into it but lets just say I will never have another rogers account as long as I live.

Did the same thing about 12 years ago at a stocked pond near Olds. The little bugger went for my feet the second he got his paws on the bank. I had to sidestep him and he kept coming right at me. I cut half my leader off with my hemostats to get him to stop. Unfortunately he took the fly and half the leader back into the water with him. Over the years I have also caught a gull, a sparrow, freshwater clams, a playboy magazine, an old jacket. There are probably others but this is all I can recall atm.

Booked the 16, 17, & 18 off! I typically do lakes in June but this year I'm going to mix it up in both Alberta and BC. Ill be back to work the following Monday with a new Beard! Sooooo excited.

Never seen this problem since the first season I learned to fly fish. My guess it's the quality of your flies if your cast is tight.

I was in the emergency department at the Olds hospital a few years back when a 4 or 5 year old girl was brought in with a bite wound on her calf she received while swimming in 2 feet of water in Dickson dam. The doctor was puzzled. I think it was a pike. This kind of thing happens more than we hear about I'm sure.
