  1. I'm looking at a kit that includes 100W panel, charge controller, wires, mounting hardware etc.$250. I'd put the link here IF I COULD DO IT ON THIS DARN WEBSITE!!!
  2. Yikes!!! It's so hard to predict what flies will be working around the "Cutty Hut" after last years flooding. Usually you might see PMD's and Drakes at that time of year, but last year they were conspicuous by their absence. I honestly won't know what to expect until I'm on the river. Terrestrials (beetles. ants) are always a good call,
  3. I am contemplating installing a solar panel on my RV. I have seen the YouTube video where the guy runs the wires down the refrigerator vent etc. Has anybody installed a solar panel? Tips....advice? Thanks Al
  4. I have camped 5 days so far and my battery has been used for the occasional light and listening to the game on my stereo. I have had the furnace on briefly to see if it works. I still have lots of juice left. One of my neighbours has two deep cycle batteries and takes one home every week and recharges it and rotates them through. I'm going to try this as I have 2 batteries. Trial and error until I come to a solution that works for me. My site has good sun exposure so a solar panel might be in the works. There is a well reviewed 100 W solar kit on Amazon for $250 that I might go to from Sean84's suggestion. Has anybody installed there own system? People mount the panel then put the wires thru the refrigerator vent and into the RV and then to the battery(ies). If anybody has done this please let me know, Thanks for all your advice Al
  5. I have a Weber 22" kettle grill.....It's very versatile and not smoking specific. Tons of fun!! Thanks for the advice. Keeping the temperature at 220 is a challenge with charcoal but I've done it.
  6. The "Cutty Hut II" is now sitting at Site #8 at Dutch Creek!! It's pretty luxurious compared to the original. I actually laid on the couch last week and listened to the hockey game on the stereo!! I'll be there every week (except for this upcoming May 25-28). My new site seems pretty secluded with no neighbours on 3 of the 4 sides and the one neighbour will probably be gone when I get there on Sundays. From the looks of the rivers, it may be awhile after opening day before I'll be fishing but I have been wrong before, In the meantime I will be practicing BBQ on my Weber kettle for hours of entertainment while I'm there. I'm still learning so hopefully this time not fishing will not be wasted. Any body have some rib smoking advice/recipes? I'm getting better but still have a ways to go!!
  7. This is driving me crazy!!! I have installed Google Chrome but my browser is still IE.......still can't C&P to the forum....Get me out of this mini rage!!
  8. If I could "copy & paste" links to this dam forum I would include a link from US border services that says "Yes"!! I'm getting a bit ticked that I can't copy links!! WTF!
  9. The "Cutty Hut II" will be rolling into Dutch Creek Provincial Recreation Area on Sunday, May 18th. I have upgraded to a "new" 22' 5th wheel. Alberta Parks are allowing seasonal camping there this year. They have set aside 15 sites. I was designated Site #8. It ain't cheap as they are charging $11/day upfront!! I haven't seen my site yet and won't until I get there. I've looked at Google Earth and it seems pretty good. I hope it is a nice one. I'm also looking forward to my luxurious new RV!! I plan on being there most Sunday to Wednesdays until Thanksgiving. I hope some of you can drop by!!
  10. Thanks.....but I have a line on some solar gear. Appreciate the thought!
  11. My C&P technique works everywhere but here.......I can't keyboard C&P either
  12. The quote thing doesn't work for me either.....but when I highlight an url...right click copy.....go to my comment ....place cursor.....right click paste.........zilch.
  13. I can't seem to "copy & paste" links in my comments on this forum. Anybody else have this problem. Am I doing something wrong? Suggestions?
  14. Racehorse Creek Provincial Recreation Area is now open, as well as Oldman River on the Oldman Road. Dutch Creek opens next week!!
  15. Pieroway Rods are opening a new shop in the NE. I believe they are still working on it. 1339 40 Ave NE Unit 15
  16. If I could post a link here I would....anyways..... go to rockymountaincamping.ca....they run all the campgrounds in the Crowsnest Pass area. Most of the campgrounds don't have hookups but there's some great mountain stream fishing in the area. I'm there camping 75 days a season.
  17. I'm confused....because your trailer is 26' ..you can't back country camp?
  18. I am thinking about upgrading the "Cutty Hut". I have an option to buy a newer. bigger version. My only concern is heating it. The "Cutty Hut" has an old catalytic heater and it works great. It only needs propane to operate. The newer RV has a HydroFlame heater and it needs electricity for the blower fan. I don't use the furnace that often but it can get pretty chilly in May and September/October overnight. Any suggestions besides a generator on how I can power the electric blower fan a few hours a night for a few nights, or any other suggestions for heating a 22' RV? Thanks
  19. If I could copy/paste urls on this forum I would direct you to "rockymountaincamping.ca". They will post when the campgrounds in the area are open. It appears Lundbreck Falls is open now and it has power....I hope to be out camping May 10th!!!
