  1. You have used these stick on lenses with success?
  2. I bought some Smith polarized "readers' on eBay......got a good price!!
  3. I ended up buying a similar reel at a "box" store. Thanks everyone for their help!!
  4. I checked with Flys etc. and they don't have them in stock but did offer to get one for me....I'm still looking but may take them up on their offer,
  5. I told a friend from Dutch Creek that I would get him one in Calgary.....Help!!! Hard to find!!! I have $170 max for a 5 wt reel.....any other suggestions? Thanks Al
  6. I just need someone to pass a message on between now and Saturday August 6...Anyone heading down AFTER the weekend?
  7. My truck broke down in Calgary and I am unable to get down to the "Cutty Hut" at Dutch Creek Campground this coming week. I need to let someone that is camping at Dutch Creek this week, know I won't be there as they are expecting me. If you can help me PM me. Thanks Al
  8. UpperOldman...K7....13 unattended RV's!! The guy at K15 or so is STILL there!!!!! ...but no skull and crossbones or Union Jack flying!!
  9. Fran Better's.... there's a name from the past!!
  10. The family used to camp at Rollins Pond near Tupper Lake and I used to watch fly fishermen at nearby Whey Pond and wanted to try it. That's how I started...mid 70's.
  11. I started fly fishing in the Adirondack Mountains of New York state....beautiful area, north of the Catskills.
  12. Not much for swimming at Dutch, also no onsite firewood sales (just to let you know)...other than that a great place.
  13. I'm pretty non-specific/vague when it comes to reporting the "cutty" waters I fish. There are so many spots to fish in the area that I'd rather readers come and discover on their own.
  14. The "squatters" should have no reason to be pissed off. They know that they have been milking it for years and finally have to face the music. Hopefully they don't all apply for seasonal camping at Dutch next year and oust me out of my spot,..I'd be choked!!!
  15. Don...From what I have been told. random camping regulation enforcement has been changed from "forestry" (SRD) to the CO's. I even heard they had 20 CO's down south but that seems hard to believe. Anyway's something is being done finally and I applaud it.
  16. Taco.....I've spoken to the guy there a few times..I wonder how he fared when that road was closed post flood? Marc...that would be awesome!!!
  17. Which falls are you talking about......the "falls" downstream from the "Gap" or the falls on the Upper reaches of the OMR ( K19?) on Oldman River Rd.? A lot of people don't know about the upper falls which are much higher.
  18. I heard the same. A bunch were ticketed on Racehorse. The squatters will be choked. They have come to expect no enforcement and some have been in the same spot for 10 years. Up until last year SRD were to enforce random camping regulations. (length of stay, permanent structures etc) but now the CO's are enforcing. It's about time. It was put away for ALL Albertans and who are they to hog the nice sites for 4 months!! I wish I knew what the fines were..I bet they total less than my 4 month stay at a seasonal site at Dutch.
  19. Do you have rubber or felt? I only fish clear cold streams and I've only worn felt and they grip well.. I'm gonna try out my brand new Simms felt sole boots tomorrow. I have confidence in felt.
  20. I've used Flyagra and it seems pretty good. I'm looking forward to see what others think/use.
  21. "They will be mine....Oh yes, they will be mine"!! Haha!! Can't wait to get down there on Sunday!!
  22. I just returned from the Oldman area today (Opening Day Eve) and the rivers are clear and low. Super windy.....the forecast is for 70km/hr gusts tomorrow in Crowsnest Pass....ugh!!
  23. Lock frame and both wheels to rack. Carry to office.
  24. The long awaited season starts June 16, The rivers and creeks are clear and wadeable already and it should be a great start to the season. I would like to extend an invite to any fellow fly fishermen that may be in the Oldman, Livingston area to drop by the "Cutty Hut" located at #8, Dutch Creek Provincial Recreation Area to chat about their day and perhaps enjoy a cold beverage. I am usually there every week from 2 ish Sunday afternoon until Wednesday morning. I look forward to meeting you. PM me if you have any questions on river conditions etc. Cheers Al Hunter
  25. I broke down and bought the Simms Rivertek Boa's while I was in Whitefish this past weekend. I saved a bit of money even with the exchange. I guess we will see how they work out. First thing is to get replacement laces from BOA!! Thanks all for your input...
