  1. Iggy shouldn't be counted on to be the top guy on the Flames. Yzerman and Sakic had other players that took over the scoring responsibilities in their twilight....Iggy's got no one.
  2. I would check it out. Cabela's was supposed to open a store in Montreal a few years ago and backed out. I like their apparel and camping gear. I'll buy my flyfishing gear locally. I like my local flyshops. Is this wrong?
  3. Always a fear of mine as I live in the Beltline. Fortunately I have secure underground parking....until something happens to it. I did have two crackheads enter my apartment while I was home and steal rolled change off my kitchen table...10 ft away from me!! I chased them off.....that was scary!!
  4. So true.....as long as i catch one...i'm happy!!
  5. Dunno.....never fish there. i see a lot of people trying tho'!!
  6. Here's a photo of how windy the Gap was last weekend!!
  7. My "source" just messaged me this partial list of stocked areas. Her husband stocked all these lakes. Chopper pilot. Ok here is a partial list of where he dumped the fishies. Sheep River, Ribbon Lake,Lillian L, Lower Galatea L, Fortress L, Shark L, Ford L, Cougar Creek, Burns L, Picle Jar L, Highwood River Beaver Ponds, Lineham Creek near Hwy 40, Odlum L, Loomis L, Lake of Horns, Carnarvon L, Etherington L and more near Canmore and Kananaskis.
  8. I shall double check with my source. I didn't think they stocked flowing waters either.
  9. Call me naive but, I just heard from a reliable source that 38,000 cutties were just stocked in the Oldman watershed. For some reason I thought they were all there naturally. Have they always been stocking there?
  10. I used to fish with a fern-lined wicker creel over my shoulder!!
  11. I contacted Melitta Canada and they are not sold by any retailers in Canada!! Kinda explains my dilemma. However, I can buy them direct from them. Done!! Thanks for your interest and help.
  12. I bought the percolator for larger groups. I still use the bodem as well
  13. I recently purchased a 12 cup coffee percolator for camping and the coffee is great, but the coffee gets some grounds in it and the cleanup is a bit of a chore. I have discovered these filters and searched most of the major grocery stores and no luck. I was hoping someone on this board could send me in the right direction. Thanks http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GHI7F...ASIN=B000GHI7FM

    Nice....What camera do you have?
  15. I also did a solo bicycle tour from victoria to tijuana. The only way to go!!
  16. I have done a few solo backpacking trips in New York's Adirondack Mtns and I loved it. Let people know like "jusfloatin"says and do it!! BTW... Talkin' to yourself is normal and recommmended in bear country!!!
  17. I was sitting at my firepit at Racehorse Creek Campground the other day and a deer strolled by with large blue/black cysts, some the size of tennis balls, hanging from it's side from the rear haunches to mid section. There were close to a dozen of these. I found it quite disturbing. Anyone know what may have caused this?
  18. Buy a lanyard and attach the camera and wear it around your neck.
  19. Does your furnace have a fan? I have camped in my trailer 22 days so far this year and I still have lots of charge in my battery. I only have the lights on for a few minutes at a time. I do not use the water pump and my furnace doesn't have a blower fan. Those two items can drain a battery. This is my first trailer and I asked the same questions as you a few months ago. My plan is to keep going 'til the battery gets low and then recharge it at home. My trailer is parked for the summer at a campsite in SW Alberta.
  20. I borrowed a friends dog a few summers ago for my fishing/camping trips and she was the best fishing dog ever. At first she was a little tentative going in the rivers but by seasons end she loved it. While I fished , Kudra, would find a place in the shade and eat bugs. She would never go in the water where I fished and would never spook fish. When I did catch a fish she could care less. She also ignored cows, deer or any other wildlife. She was really well trained and would do anything she was told. It was very sad when the season came to an end. Unfortunately Kudra and her owner moved on and I am back to solo fishing ventures. The best is when you have a dog you don't look so stupid talking to yourself on the river!! That's her loyally swimming beside me in my profile pic.
