  1. You bet your knicker's it's a native to Alberta.
  2. The coulees around Lethbridge are chock full of them. They like the abandoned groundsquirrel burrows and cluttered packrat garages. Fairly timid creature so as long as you don't bother it, it won't bother you. However they do pack a mean venom in their tiny little bite. Cool find DBT!
  3. Keith if you know where to go in southern Alberta you can see over a hundred pheasant during the breeding season in less than 2 miles of road. I will say Montana has more pheasants, but that has more to do with climate than actual available habitat. Alberta has limited areas where pheasants can thrive and that belt is the deep south. The fact that people blindly support this cause is disturbing. There is so much room for abuse it is disgusting. Who determines what is improved or maintained habitat and how do you quantify it in a standard measure? How does this guarantee more access? Whos gonna stop farmer Bob (not the Rev) from letting only his friends on while cashing in on it even though he would have let his friends hunt/ fish anyways. Who is going to pay for this? Why even with all the uproar from the hunting community is this still going through? People claim access is an issue in the 108 because the Deseret and MaCyntire ranch historically do not let outsiders hunt their vast properties. Other than theses two organizations access is not an issue in the 108 and any who thinks it is cannot be putting the effort forth to build relations with landowners to use there land. A knock on the door goes a long way, and even over the phone some people will allow access. The places that like to pretend that wildlife are a burden to them are complete hypocrites. If they don't want the wildlife eating their hay stacks then they should allow people to make use of the wildlife to reduce their numbers, not shut everyone out and then cry about how the deer are eating their pansy's. Apologies in advance as this is a sore spot for me and I cannot see any useful good come of it other than some taxpayer money getting passed around and some certain rich folk getting to hunt the trophy ranches in the south.
  4. All I can say is that I am glad we put a couple in the win column. Was getting a little scary for a while there. Missed the game due to prior committments, but sure wish I could have seen the bashing. I got to see Chicago bash a few other teams in the NW recently, would've figured people would be happy to see them lose lol.
  5. Could you please tell that to my wife, cause when I say I need new fishing stuff she gets pretty red in the face.
  6. Might as well toss this lovely pose in of my hunting/working/family dog Gunner....
  7. Nice video mang. Thanks for not stealing my gold!
  8. My dog just lost two of his most prized companions on Monday. He was really depressed the first day but hes gradually coming to terms with the loss of his lick toys. Hey it can't be all that bad, he gained a coin purse in the process. And to make things worse for him, he can't come to work with me until it heals which makes him even more depressed.
  9. Jeez I don't know what to say....I'm loving this crap for weather. It was even too cold and crappy for me to be wandering out in the middle of some field in the middle of nowhere. Thus I got a much needed day off to unwind.
  10. Pretty sure its about damn dutchmen and their dairy cows no wait thats what Picture Butte is all about...
  11. Dave I have some rotten carcasses that I will dispose of in your mailbox for when you get back.......and may a bird *hit on you while your sunburning on the beach....... Ray the SNS has made its way south already. I'm only 15 mi away and I've been through leth a few times this week leaving a trail of SNS taint for all those with too much free time
  12. Aside from being nastied right the shack up I don't have much to look forward to but work, which further extends the shack nasty cycle for me. Maybe FFC could purchase a B&B in the pass and let it serve as a retreat for those fellow flyfishers with Shack Nasty Syndrome (SNS).
  13. Thanks Flytyer lmao How are the shacknasties treating u dube......maybe you should try smoking your handle or getting out fishin'.......you still have a ways to go before streams open en masse
  14. I have done countless searches and still come up empty....Wheres the thread related to the Canucks (aside from all the bashing in the "other two" threads...........
  15. Feelings are mutual towards the shames... now we just need a coiler fan to jump in for some FFC shacknasty mudslingin'
  16. If you think his 10 games (which is a gross understatement) were average at best, maybe you should look at the number of shutouts and goals against. Maybe you're unaware of this but Luongo didn't choose to get injured, it something that was out of his hands. Also I believe they changed the way they choose the members of the all star teams this year and there needs to be at least one representative from each team. That would mean not everyone in your hockey pool gets to play.
  17. Been given a quick lesson in spanish and I wasn't too far off the mark, but......Thanks for the clarification JKsniders Gotta love the flavour of foot in mouth
  18. Then I believe u failed to read my respose appropriately........Missed the mark on that one I think
  19. Yes she can swallow but I was hoping someone else would bite so I wouldn't have to dirty dirty dirty Taco......roflmao
  20. Not to be a turd, but the statement that deer are overpopulated is a big misnomer. The entire state of Texas is estimated to have more deer than the entire country of Canada. We like to think they are overly abundant, but truth be told their populations are no where near overabundant. There are estimates ranging anywhere from 20-30 million deer in the states, which is drastically more than what Canada supports in deer (somewhere around 4-5 million...too lazy to search for the populatiom studies). Our habitats and climate are limiting to deer populations and thus we will never see over populated (beyond the capacity of its environment) deer in our neck of the woods for a long time. There are localized populations that are overabundant and these are usually outskirts of urban areas or other suitable habitats where hunting is not allowed and predators aren't welcome. Rickr is bang on the money with people understimating PETA. These organizations are not afraid to take extreme measures to get their point accross and IMO should be treated like terrorists. Money talks and BS walks, and if money and BS meet up you have walking BS ie. PETA
  21. I take it this was before DFO took over the praires. I know of a similar situation of a creek of Pinchers that did the exact opposite and more damage than a cow could have done in a thousand years. Also have seen many lets say "organizations" bypass the regulations regarding streambeds to bring water to where it was wanted with no consideration of the water quality or fisheries Agreed some people can take it upon themselves to better a stream, but I would feel more comfortable with someone knowing what to do as opposed to winging it with heavy equipment.
  22. x2 On the percocet.......WOW.... After severely burning my hand the percocet allowed me to maintain my sanity. I will say it is very addictive and when they nearly pushed me over to take another prescription I very reluctantly said no. Never slept better or been as numb as on percocet. I have yet to be administered morphine, I hear the hangover sucks, but the ride is good. To keep 'er somewhat on track. sorry to hear about your slip Rick and if anybody at work gives you a hard time, take it out of there paycheck....lol
