  1. I can only support this if the netting is done by green powered jet boats, and only during spawning. You still got some magical skills Clive. Kudos
  2. If targeting fish at Mcvinnie, you'll have better luck going for the walleye that worked there way in the system. They're not in large numbers but they tip the scale quite high. The fishing is really hit or miss there. Best is to get out in the belly boat or toon and fish as deep as you can.
  3. Taco, Surely you know its better to burn the witch before the trial. It removes all need to worry about whether it was a witch at all. Curious to see what the results are myself. Any learnin' is a good learnin', even if it stings a bit.
  4. Sad part is I bet most of you couldn't tell which parts had been logged in the past in the Castle even though many of you have been through the old "virgin" forests. I'm not for any further logging in the area as long as they will let it burn a time or two before disease and build up index make for irrepairable damage. But thats just not going to happen unfortunately.
  5. Simply put places that require orange still have hunters being shot each year. Wearing orange does nothing to protect you other than make your clothing clash. Some provinces have higher numbers of hunters being shot over the years despite wearing orange. If orange was capable of preventing people from being shot than places like Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick (to pick on a couple) would not have anyone being shot due to their requirements of wearing orange. Unfortunately this is not the case! It's the so called hunters, not the clothing in my opinion that are the problem. You wanna wear orange have at 'er. But my choice to not wear orange does not make me any less responsible than the guy who does.
  6. Raymond sure did a good job faking it if you mean by deliberately breaking his own back?????
  7. Been to many quiet flames games in my time (not poking fun just saying). Canuck fans are just as loud as any other teams, the whole hype is due to the commentators making such comments in specific points of the games that obviously didn't require cheering.
  8. Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! Crawford had an amazing game and there was no shortage of entertainment! Finally!!!!! Can't wait for all the Nashville supporters to chime in!
  9. deja vu or home ice advantage......I'm not sure which anymore
  10. unless Andy is working a trapline or the quarry is ground squirrels (not the tree loving ones) it is illegal to kill chipmunks and squirrels as they are considered fur bearing animals. But knowin' Andy he wouldn't poach, especially after you see what he does to illegal baitfisher's he finds on his journeys. When I lived in Calgary we had zoo escapees make a home in our attic. buggers chewed through chicken wire twice to get back to their new found home. A leg trap did the trick on both of them and fortunately for me that meant more tying materials.
  11. Have a great birthday Clive. And since you're passed the point of no return you better go for the seafood to soften your stool.
  12. Thanks for clarifying for me tightlines. I think my confusion stems from grouping all things older than Clive as the same regarding legal matters.
  13. I was under the impression that although it belongs to the crown you can still become a steward of said artifact/historical resource. An example that comes to mind would be the collection of ammonite/ammolite. It is legal (at least I thought so) to collect provided you do not have to dig it out of the ground, but you can only sell it with the appropriate disposition. Ammonite and its gem stone are primarily found on crown land (unless you go to the mines or a few private land locations). If this is not the case (and I am only pressing the issue further to ensure I as well as thousands of other folks down south aren't in contradiction of the law) than I will be sure to advise others of the rules of collection.
  14. surface collection is allowed in Alberta although there are some gray areas in the legalities. I'm not 100% clear on the rules with crown land, but from what I've been told from our Arky's at the company I work for it is ok, just not very moral from their standpoint. Tightline should be able to clarify if I'm totally out to lunch without my wallet.
  15. I've got stage fright..........tinkle tinkle
  16. Shaughnessy sure ain't but doing winter field work in the booming metropolis of Anzac or Ft. Mackay sure can be chilly. Nothing like frozen grey colored camp food to keep your spirits up while out chasing critters. Best would probably be doing stream monitoring near Conklin when it was a balmy -58 without the windchill. Needless to say you didn't stop moving for long.
  17. Much rather have cold then sweltering heat......although eating frozen sandwiches in -45 degree weather isn't all that exciting when your miles rom civilization.
