  1. Beauty pictures. Thanks for sharing!
  2. I was catching a ton of small bulls on the RDR last weekend. I assumed that they just were washed way down the system from the tribs. Just my guess though.
  3. Nice work on picking him up from the pound. He's going to be a great companion. I'll say hi if I see you guys on the river together!
  4. Saw your explanation on the this board. Awesome!
  5. Terrifyingly close to home. Condolences and best wishes to his family, friends, and fishing partners.
  6. Perfect, love the colouring on those cuts
  7. This was a sweet find, being that I'm a photographer and a fisherman, haha
  8. I tried it last time I was out and it was still quite potent.. I'd just rather keep a new one on me just in case. Further to the other replies, I have a free canister of expired bear spray if anyone wants to have some fun!
  9. Hey all, I have a can of expired bear spray. Just wondering how I should dispose of it?
  10. Love the trout sig there bob!
  11. Saw this on Orvis' twitter.. Video: Incredible Footage of the First Marlin Ever Landed on a Fly Rod
  12. Some nice chunky fish there!
  13. After visiting the Island, Seattle (specifically the ballard district) and Halifax this year, I'm finally admitting that Calgary just doesn't cut it for beer. I'm very much into craft beer, and have to agree that most tap selections in Calgary fall short for micro brews. The places that do have great draught charge nearly what a 6-pack would cost for a pint, and people pay it!! Here's my list for best in Calgary in order of my fav's to least 1. Wild Rose (great tap room too!) 2. Brew Brothers in District (hit and miss on the food) 3. Village 4. Brewsters 5. Big Rock I would say my favourite place for a craft brew at a decent price is the Hop & Brew on 12th. Great pizza too!
  14. Beauty, good fight?
  15. Oh cool, yeah that area is beautiful.. Def need to head back for some salmon runs
  16. Thought I would start up a new "Fishless Pics" thread for the 2013 season starting with my trip out to Vancouver Island Fished the Little Qualicum and Englishman estuaries for sea-run cutties and maybe some early pinks and coho. Ended up just working on my cast Stopped in at Little Qualicum falls Beach gear
  17. I also have the TS3, bought it on sale after the TS4 came out and I really love it. When I'm not around dirt and sand I shoot with professional gear, and I'm happy that they introduced the manual setting in the TS4 so you can expose pictures how you want. The Leica lens is not bad, but it's also only 5x zoom, and can get scratched as it's always exposed. I love the GPS on these cameras, if you load them into a program that enables geo-tagging you can see where you caught each of your fish. The HD video is good too, I find it works well for underwater release vids. As with any underwater camera, just make sure the seal for the memory card and battery docks are free of debris and are well maintained. I had an olympus underwater camera before this one and the seal degraded and let water in, which killed the camera. It also had a retractable lens cover that stopped working once it got dirt in it, so watch out for that. I don't usually touch up photos afterwards, so here's some examples straight through the lens.
  18. I just flew out of Calgary to Victoria and we flew over the bow from about harvie passage to just N of Crowchild and the elbow around downtown and then west of calgary too. I was totally blown away by the new structures created on both river! It's going to be a interesting summer learning these 'new' rivers

  20. Nice work on the golden trout episode of Fly Nation!
  21. I had a great idea for parenthood while fishing.. Sadly I don't think my wife will let me do it.
  22. Sink tip line as well?
  23. I love my Frabill clear rubber net too. It's 15" long and really deep. Makes handling fish very easy! I had to repair the rope that attaches the net to the wood frame once when my net got caught on a tree, but otherwise it's been very durable.
