  4. Zenith's are/were made in Korea....they are discountinued now. Replaced by the Zephrus, still made in Korea though.
  5. Gary, whoa thanks for the triple whammy! Fantastico......
  6. Some great guides on the the Bow, and all are hard working top notch folks to spend a day with too. Kevin Peterson CP (as others have said, you will be laughing, and learning) Dee Chatani Iron Bow (Dee is an awesome guide, knows every inch of that river) Terry from Fish Tales (See above as per Dee, Terry is fantastic) Josh Nugent Out Fly (another fish whisperer) Paula Shearer (our boat mirrored hers occasionally on a float last late September, every time we looked over it seemed rods were bent in her boat. At the pull out at Mckinnons her clients told us they truly had an amazing day)
  7. X2 on Storm Mountain Lodge.... http://www.stormmountainlodge.com/
  8. I had a great time at the show, always do. Took the workshops with Tom Rosenbauer, (Xmas presents from family) sat in on many of the free seminars as well. And there were many offered. It was great to have all the Bow River guides in one place as well, I got a chance to visit and talk about the river with Dee, Terry, Josh and Paula. Getting their thoughts and take on how the Bow evolved last season was awesome. Watching pro fly casters in action such as Gary Borger, plus Lynda and Jim, was inspiring. Lynda carrying all that line in the air perfectly with her relaxed casting syle had quite a few people stop and take notice. Her casting really was a pleasure to watch. Plus, if you have a question about how she does it, just walk up and talk to her. Chances are she will just put her rod in your hand and share all she knows. Gary and Jim were also very approachable to anyone who wanted to discuss casting, or anything really. It was good to see most of the local shops have booths to support the show. It's a pile of work and expense to set one up and staff it for the weekend. There were deals to be found, if one chose to look and dig a bit. Courtney came from Vancouver Island once again as well to set up his large shop display. Nice to see all the Mystic stuff in one row. All in all, a great way to spend the weekend, and I can't imagine the doldrums of January without it. Was up to midnight last night tying, going over my notes, and fussing over gear, and thinking about the coming season. I do wish I could buy a 3 day pass to cover the weekend The show used to be open later on Friday night, I wish it still was, I used to always go after work with friends.Took the Friday off work this year to attend Tom's workshops so it was all good.
  9. Very sad news. Met Ron quite a few times. He fixed me up with a minty Renzetti Traveller a few years ago. He was a big fan of the Norvise, and when he tied on it he made that thing sing. On his front step once, with a west wind blowing, I told him I could smell the river.... He gave me a wry smile and a wink and simply said....'Yeah' He was a good man.....
  10. Gary, and Doc, thanks for posting the artwork! Best Wishes and look forward to seeing you at the Expo! (Doc, bring the LAW please) Gary, your flies are and will always be, a great inspiration to me. Merry Christmas to all!
  11. I have received paid seminars from my family as Xmas gifts. Well worth it and I have enjoyed them all very much. Getting a chance to spend 2 intense and enjoyable hours almost one on one with the likes of Gary Borger, Jack Dennis, or Tom Rosenbauer? Priceless, IMHO. I have a few on my Xmas list again for the 2016 Expo, hope Santa comes through. If not, I will ante up on my own....
  12. I have a Fish Pond Bitch Creek backpack. It has dual rod tube holders. Great pack...its a day pack: The overnight pack is called the Black Canyon: http://fishpondflyfishing.com/Pages/Backpacks.html At the bottom of both rod holders, there is a zipper with a round folded pocket inside that slips out, which then firmly holds the tube at a lower level.
  13. I took several of his Seminars at the Expo, my family got them for me for Xmas. Really enjoyed them, Jack is a real character. He is living history. the people he has fished with, the authors he has known. Great video, I really hope he comes again to the Expo in 2016....
  14. Great end of season shots!
  15. I would store it all inside the house, except maybe wading boots. Also, while I will keep a 6 weight operational, for those warm winter days, most everything else gets tucked away. Clean and lubricate reels, clean fly lines, toss the used leaders. I like to put a coat of wax on my rods before storage, I use Nu Finish, it doesn't scratch the blank. If the cork is dirty, gently use a dampened Mr CLean Magic Eraser on the handle, it will remove the dirt, sweat, (tears maybe?) sunscreen etc that accumulate on the handle after a busy summer of the river. Its a good time as well, to wash all my fishing shirts, baselayers, pants, wading socks, and hang or store properly after airing them out for a few days. Waders are hung at room temp, by the straps, as always I would never leave them folded for the winter. I dont like leaving them folded at all, except in the duffle on the way to the river. I know I 'over answered' your question, oops
  16. The fish of a lifetime, congratulations. She was ok after the fight?
  17. Simply amazing! Thanks for sharing Jordan!
  18. Read the 3rd paragraph.....they don't conk, bonk and boil in the Bhutan.....ever http://www.flyfishhimalayas.com/history-of-bhutan/ They knew what they were doing was wrong....
  19. Jordan, top notch job. Great work, and thank you. One thing, you can rest assured this was not the perpetrators first outing to the area, nor their first poaching adventure. My guess is a couple of them went out once, scouted, threw bait, filled thier boots and came home full of information for future 'adventures'. They then told their buddies about their mother load of free fish and then things went from there. And, one at least, or all of them, must of known what they were doing was wrong and illegal.
  20. Great pictures, very inspiring! I can feel the BTU's coming off the fire shot, heartwarming to be sure....
  21. Sending. Once its installed, a potato/ham/onion/egg fry up must happen on site. And, in true Jeff fashion, plates, knives and forks will be forgotten. Straight from the pan boys, fingers only......
