  1. Once my Telus contracts run out, it will be over to Shaw. Telus only cares about you until you become their customer....
  2. Looks awesome! Did you use epoxy on the wingcase? Or clear lacquer? Glossed perfect...

  7. ggp, really amazing work. Well photographed and your background matches the flies perfectly. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming please! Sure makes a cold winter day better seeing them.
  8. Some stunning ties and great photgraphy going on here. Awesome work, GGP, Paula, Garhan and Nathaniel!
  9. Awesome pics Peetso, thanks for sharing! The Inn looks mighty cozy truth be told, and the supper table tasty. Who needs room service anyway with nearby attractions such as those!
  10. Great picture SD, thanks and same to you, the Mods, and all forum members!
  11. I got my unread 1976 vintage 6th Edition of 'Trout' on Ebay for $6.00 a few months ago. Before doing that, I looked in the local shops, as there is quite a recent reprint from 2000. I could not find one locally at that time. My '76 edition has all the artwork of the wet flies that appeared in earlier editions, and I am sure some of the pages of artwork is from the original 1938 edition. The artwork, cutting edge and astounding at the time, is not quite as clear and concise what as we are used to today. I have not seen the fly artwork in the most recent 2000 Edition, so I cannot comment. Regardless, it is a fabulous book and a great read. Ray Bergman's research and experience, starting as a young fly fisherman during WW1, and progressing to the mid 1930's and beyond, is still valid today. Along with Joe Brooks 'Trout Fishing' from 1972, this book never fails to astound me. Ray Bergman, who died in 1967, was years ahead of his time. Read it now in 2012, and you can see how far!
  12. Congrats on the new edition to your family! Enjoy these days...they will fly by before you know it.
  13. Gobsmacked Adrienne.........can't really find the words. Beyond amazing, all of them. Please post more and thanks for sharing!! (I think the black bin is still sitting out front the house.....my camera and memory cards are going IN)
  14. Great pic's once again, thanks for sharing. Amazing fish. That sure does look like the same fish from November 16 and the 23rd, gill markings are identical! Really like the b/w shot of the 'fight'!
  15. Hard to watch. Funny thing, I was out in Kelowna for the Marathon 3 weeks ago. Watching some 10 year old kids catching squawfish (northern pikeminnow) on small spoons by the marina downtown. They treated those fish with absolute care and respect, carefully unhooking them and gently returning them to the water, fish after fish.....it was amazing to watch them.
  16. Excellent quartet! (Wind 'em like you stole 'em) I am sure 'Dueling Hardy's' will be coming next!
  17. Excellent shots, all of them! Thanks for sharing.... Sorry to hear about Magnum, he looks just like my lab Charlie, who I lost in November 1987. Those soft yellow ears where just made for rubbin'....
  18. I like the clear (with largish) individual compartment boxes for my drys. I can see them through the lid and keep several flies in each compartment. They cushion against each other and the hackles don't seem to get damaged. I label the lid top with sizes sometimes over certain compartments. For nymphs and streamers I use old Perrine boxes mostly....
  19. I saw these Cocoon 'over glasses' sunglasses at Mountain Equipment Co-Op yesterday. They have almost a full rack in stock with different styles. Quite an interesting and quality product, and they really don't look that much bigger than regular sunglasses. The pair I was looking as has internal adjustments so you can make them fit quite snugly over your existing perscription glasses. Neat idea and well made!
  20. Peltor or Bilsom...... They have electronic sensor models starting at just over a hundred. Peltor NRR20's would be a great gift. And, being Peltor's, they will still work 10 years from now. The Sport-Tac's in your link would be just fine!
  21. I know Sears Opitcal will set you up with some polarised perscription sunglasses, always use a tether when your on the water! http://www.searsoptical.com/eyeglasses/prescription-sunglass-lenses-polarized-polycarbonate-and-anti-reflective
  22. Mike at Country Pleasures fitted me out with some new Riversheds as few weeks ago, and so far, two thumbs up. Wore them all last weekend on the the Dogpound and LRD, and gotta say, they are my new best friends. Lots of high ankle support, and I have the cleat kit standing by to put in if I encounter slime. So far have not needed the cleats, however. The super stiff sole took a bit to get used to. One heads up I got from Mike, the 'StreamTread' sole on the Rivershed is soft Vibram. It's tough, but if your walking miles and miles on very hot pavement or asphalt, it could lead to premature wear. So avoid such use, walk on the sides of such pathways on really hot days.
  23. Great walleye SJW, and neat pic taken intio the sun! The weather last Saturday was amazing, a great day to be out.
