You can return them to Wal-mart for store credit. There are plenty of guys who can and do run class 2-4 rapids in drift boats. Take a look at Youtube for videos of guys running Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter on the Snake, or Blossom Bar on the Rougue to name a few. A

I also bought a pair of suspenders to go with them as mine tend to fall down and they are great. Not a flaw in the pants but a flaw in my body. A

I love my pants waders. There has never been a time for me that I wished I had full waders. I figure if I needed full waders then I probably dont need to be in that water. If you fish from the boat alot they are great as they are more comfortable to sit in and you dont get as hot in the summer. A

Put A Power Boat Ban On The Bow
Gaffer replied to Fishslayer74's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
The guy in the red zodiac is a pain in the ass. He has low holed us several times and we have had to pull him out at Mac already this year. If you dont know he runs a spin fishing blog named after a certain river we all like to fish. I have also heard about the guy in the Hummer and his antics chewing up the river bed at Mac. With that said, there are particular members here who have a reputation of being less than courteous with their jets. Andrew -
None of the fish I have asked cared about what colour my gear is. A

Put A Power Boat Ban On The Bow
Gaffer replied to Fishslayer74's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Jets dont piss me off, people piss me off. There are certain jet drivers that have a reputation for thinking they own the river and there have been words with them. Having been out with a couple of experienced & courteous jet owners, like anything, it comes down to the driver. I am sure there are some jet drivers that would think pontoons should be banned. I don't know that I would knowingly put myself in such a small craft in a river where I know there are power boats and limited sight lines at times. There have been times that I have been rowing and came across a pontoon anchored up in a bad place and had to hit the oars pretty hard to get out of the guys way. It's just a matter of looking out for each other. Andrew -
I LOVE the look of that puzzle joint there. I plan on covering up my scaph with some type of stripe, but I would totally rock that joint. Andrew

I look forward to seeing the progress. On a related not, Crappy tire has 5' random orbital sander sheets for $.28 each in a pack of 50 this week. I know I am gonna need some for the new project. Andrew

I like the looks of that. Did Roger's book provide any help? Did you give any more thought to the chine idea you were considering? Andrew

I would never want to teach my partner to fly fish. There are better people who can help and divorce is expensive. If your both wanting a little Bow River tune up talk to Max or one of the other sponsors here about doing a guided walk & wade. http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=17195 Both of you will learn more in that time than you would learn on your own. It certainly reduces the learning curve and makes it more enjoyable. Andrew

I measured last night and I am at about 4 inches in the back. I never had any plans from lake use so I dont know how that works. Andrew

I'm not totally sure as it keeps changing. My build is pretty free form, but I think I will be pretty close to where you are at, maybe a little less in the stern. I'll measure it up and let you know. Andrew

I like the looks of that. Especially the side profile. Which end is the front? I will be following with interest, but you are not allowed to get your in the water before mine. Andrew

Advice Needed To Repair Oar
Gaffer replied to fishinglibin's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Are they fiberglass oars you are trying to repair? Depending on the damage you may be able to repair them by sanding them smooth and then coating them in epoxy resin. If you were to paint on a couple of coats of resin you should be good to go. You may also consider these. http://canvasfish.com/merchandise/oar-wrap...for-outdoor-use If you can post some pics you may get some help as well. Andrew -
Problem Solved

I think that Fish Tales has larger spools of lead. They are about 4" high and as big around as a beer can. I dont know if the price is right. but easy to source. Andrew

I think this is a change in the business model at Simms to support their transition into other markets besides fly fishing. If you look at some of the recent offerings from Simms, they have branched out into hiking shoes, and clothing that appeals to a wider outdoor audience. I dont see it as a bad thing for fly shops, in fact it may be better as non-fisher people come to fly shops looking for Simms outdoor clothing. My mom goes to Fish Tales to buy Croc's shoes because the have a good selection, but she never fishes. It is the same path that companies like Burton, North Face, Columbia have taken. Go from a specific niche market, to a wider one while still servicing your foundation. It makes good business sense, especially if it is needed to ensure that Simm's can keep offering quality fly fishing gear. By boycotting Simms, it will hurt your local fly shop as well unless you buy a different brand. For me, Simms is the right combination of form, function, and price. I like their gear more than the other brands out there like so really boycotting Simms is cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I will continue to support my local fly shop. The nice thing about fly shops is that if you can order it from the Simms web site the store can get it too, and you likely wont get nailed for shipping. Andrew

Iphone 4s Rogers & Shaw Webmail
Gaffer replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I got a iPhone with Telus last week, but had the same issue. I called Shaw & the guy was really helpful. He had to change some settings on his end to get it to work, but it only took a couple of minutes. The documentation on Shaw's website is not much help, but I would give Shaw a call & see if they can help. Andrew -
