  1. Someone told me that if you put up a life size replica of an owl that will keep them away. Not sure if it works or not but a buddy of mine on an acreage says it works.
  2. I really like my Redington 4wt, just great on medium size waters but have even caught a 20 inch rainbow on the bow with it and 6 inch brookies on willow choked creeks.
  3. Had my Specialized Tricross bicycle stolen this afternoon from the rack outside of the Ernst and Young Tower on 4th Street and 3 Ave SW. Its grey and has a CKUA sticker on the front of the headset and Shimano clip in pedals. I know it's a long shot but if anyone sees it please let me know. Thanks
  4. Chain Lakes west of Nanton is okay for that too.
  5. They are an excellent eating fish (just not from the soapy Bow)
  6. I have seen people launch at Shouldice Park and guess the take out by the zoo.
  7. Well that is the greenest thing I have heard, the bonus is that the area grazed will get fertilized too!
  8. Totally agree with you on this Clive. On the Left Coast they have hundreds of greenhouse operations that produce cucumbers, tomatoes etc. Each one of these operations contains CO2 generators that increase the CO2 level within the greenhouse to 3 times the ambient level outside of it. But they aren't airtight so I'm betting that there is a significant escape into the atmosphere. Greenpeace hasn't made mention of that. I am all for sustainability and conservation but lets get some realistic perspective going. Renewables are very trendy right now, just like gluten free.
  9. Your statement about a fairy tale is pretty much right on. The big push is Avi Lewis a documentary film maker. It sounds like he's trying to follow in the Inconvenient Truth footsteps. Which we know was so accurate that it forecast the complete reduction of the Arctic ice cap in ten years. The film was made in 2005.
  10. The Oldman around Ft Macleod it has a few trout but mostly pike, the town is old and rural but does have the south country fair and they shot the Fargo TV series there. It's about as rough as most towns in southern Alberta.
  11. For the Crow at this time of year it's pretty much like the Bow, just maybe a bit smaller on the fly size and don't run them as deep.
  12. Thanks for the patterns guys, will definitely give them a try.
  13. Thought I saw a good skwala pattern here once upon a time. Anyone have one they are willing to share?
  14. I was down by the 17th Ave ramp and the gate was open and unlocked, in fact it looked like it was locked open. Don't know if this was because the boat patrol was on the river but I didn't see any vehicle parked with a trailer anywhere. Which as far as I can tell would be an issue there, because when the development was built the parking area was removed.
  15. I had that happen to me one year and was lucky enough to get some counselling from and exercise physiotherapist who gave me some stretching and rehab exercises. Went away quickly after that and I also took my doctors advice. Me: Doc it hurts whenever I move my arm like this. What should I do? Dr: Don't move your arm like that!.
  16. Unless you are familiar with the Bow in that area I wouldn't drift it. Lots of sweepers, logjams and sneaky channels.
  17. BC is saying that they are busy. I have seen ads in the help wanted.
  18. So I am once again trying to post some photos and once again I am having a difficult time. I have the photos on photobucket. But it seeseems to me that it is quite onerous (f*#+king hard) to do this.
  19. Nice pics I like the grizz shot reminds of a day on the Oldman
