For both rivers nothing is guaranteed. Took a friend from out of town for a float on the Elk in August, we caught one fish. And everyone knows that the Bow can bust yer balls.

Bought a pair of Caddis breathable waders a couple of years ago. $99 then ripped them on some barbed wire first time out but patched that easily enough. Have been good since.

I was at the game and it was painful to watch. We were sitting on the west side where the Stamps bench was and there was a good breeze blowing out of the east right in our faces. I walked over to the west side and it was definitely warmer there. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nah they just sucked.

I remember reading when Ted Morton was in the legislature that ATV numbers had increased by four times, I think that was from 2001 to 2007. I do know that between 2005 and 2013 there were about 130000 ATV's purchased in Alberta and about 120000 off road dirt bikes. Good illustration of user mentality in my family the one brother hates the ATV's and my other brother, who has a dirt bike, thinks there isn't a problem.

I have run into ATV's & motorbikes and in one case even some Jeeps in a couple of different areas above treeline, so it will help there. But you are right it leaves a lot to be desired. The Conservatives don't want to upset the potential voting public, and a great majority of people ATV. It is actually not only impacting the Castle area, my brother lives on an acreage just outside of Edmonton. There have been numerous instances of ATVers cutting fences, tearing up private property and racing up and down trails and roads where they are acting illegally. So due to that percentage of the population I don't think we will see a changing of regulations. As with most things it will take a major disaster type of issue to cause a change to happen.

I think that its great that they put it up. I haven't seen it in person so I don't have an informed opinion at this time, probably will go look at it at some point. I recall when the fish were put up on Glenmore there was quite an uproar. Art isn't supposed to have a purpose, its art and is supposed to cause an emotional response. Seems to me that this piece is doing just that.

There is a place on 11th Ave and 11 St SW called Spirit West and they recycle that all kinds of equipment, I'm sure they would take the waders..

Very sad to hear this I will miss him.. Like all the rest I enjoyed going to his shop; he was truly passionate about fly fishing.

You are not missing much right now. Floods really have changed the river. I have gone out twice in the last week, primarily to check out what's changed which turns out is a lot, managed one small rainbow on a prince and had a LDR on the worm. The major holes that I used to hit are gone, the old empty runs seem to still be there. A big run that was a go to for me has with a channel running behind it, so it is actually an island now. I think that it will be two years before the river is back to what it was BF. The fish are still there it is just a matter of finding them, and they will be transient until it all settles down. I found some really strange things, there is a ~100 yard long stretch where the river deposited a bunch of tomato bedding plants, they all produced. At the end of the tomatoes there is a beautiful sunflower, when I first saw it I thought it was an artificial. I hope that is all I find, will be walking all the old stretches to see what is. I will post as things progress.

I heard it was open to Lost Lemon lookout. Don't know where that is in relation to the Elbow parking area.

Gold ore is usually associated with quartz veins. But gold is where you find it.

Try in the actual Bragg Creek lots of little brooks in there. I would tell you to go to Elbow Lake, but the highway is still closed up that way because of the flood.

The last four times I called RAP they called back within ten minutes.
