  1. How much is it?
  2. Sounds like a pretty fun rod and good price to Thanks for all the info on the rod guys! Now what if you built a 10' 6wt wind warrior with a lower end grip... probably would make more sense to just get the 1106 then, a foot isn't going to make a whole lot of difference on the Bow...
  3. Hey Guys, has anyone cast the new Amundson Trout Spey 11' 3-4wt yet? I cast the 10' 6wt still water and was pretty pumped on it at the expo this year. Pretty sweet rod, it was lined funny at the time but once you could feel the rod loading properly woweee. If the 3/4 is like that rod then I think it would be pretty sweet for nymphing and streamers on the Bow. Anyone know if the rod is spey rated? I'm pretty sure the spey 1106 is rated like a single handed 6wt right? I know there is at least one Amundson Pro Staff on here, they should know! Also in the 2010 catalog online there are waders in there but can't find them on the website with a price, anyone know? Does Fish Tales carry Amundson blanks? Am thinking of building either a 10' 6wt or maybe the 1134 if its good. One more thing, maybe the Amundson Pro Staff can send the message, but on the website under the Wind-Warrior Spey section the new trout spey is listed in that table near the bottom as a WWS4-1106F while it should be WWS4-1134M. It is listed correctly below so I think it is a spelling error... link Thanks!!
  4. If you are really stuck then make a new folder on your desktop and drag the photos you want into that folder from iPhoto. Then once in photobucket you can just go to that folder on the desktop and upload from there. Kind of a run around way to do it but it should work
  5. Hiller is playing ridiculous! 45 shots and only 2 goals yeesh. Canada is playing to cutesy like it is an all-star game trying to setup beautiful plays when a solid shot would be just as good. Maybe not so much in the 3rd period but definitely before that.
  6. All of you fishing Opti Switches suck lol I cast one at the FFexpo and holy crap! GLshooter how is that 4/5 beulah? Is it similar to the opti 6wt? Can you chuck big streamers with that or is it mostly used for nymphing?
  7. For streamers I use a 11'2" 7wt switch and I find it a tiny bit to heavy... Am looking at building a 6wt 10'8" switch that should work better I think. Maybe though a 9'6" 6wt would be better for nymphing and whatnot but that's not a spey
  8. yeah i read the speypages stuff on it. I was hoping you guys had a better description. The speypages makes it sound kinda like a snap T that you "snap" out into the current above you then your loop is formed kinda off to your side. Maybe this is what it is but who knows lol Also how would a perry poke work any better than a single spey? Won't your loop still form behind you? I guess if your talking casting out maybe 45 deg into the run then ya... I like the guys post below on speypages saying "I feel that the mark of a great caster is the ability to present the fly to the fish - no matter what the conditions" I know there are lots of air mends you can do in single handed casting to work different currents and situations, I wonder if you can do all these air mends with spey casts? Spey Pile Cast? Spey Reach Cast? Spey Hook Cast?! Oh the possibilities haha Here is an excellent link on single handed casting games if you are interested http://www.sexyloops.com/carlos/index.shtml
  9. I have been reading up on different types of spey casts and apparently this "square-cut cast" is really good for when you are tight to the banks with bushes behind you. I can't seem to find any good description or video of this cast. It is in the Spey Masterclass video by Derek Brown, does anyone have this video?? Does anyone here do this cast or give a description of this cast at all? Thanks guys!
  10. Whistler shop has that deal goin with the AEG rods and evotec reels as well. I wish they had an excess of the 9'6 6wt's though, I would be all over that!
  11. That is sweet, i'll have to check it out! Also thank you to SouthBow shop for donating the T-Shirt that I won at the film festival! Tie One On!
  12. Heres my frankentruder lol I will definitely fish this guy
  13. Marbou something or other on a cue tip tube! whoop whoop
  14. Awesome! Thanks for all the tips, I have some Q-tips already so I am good to go! Do you guys put a hook keeper tube on the end of q-tips as well? Are those necessary for the fly to function properly?
  15. Anyone know where you can get plastic tubing for tube flies? Seems a bit steep at a fly shop for a bit of tube. Tubes are usually around 1/16" inner diam and 1/8" outer diam...
  16. smokin deal for NJ... What was it that Kovalchuck turned down at Atlanta like $101 Million lol he musta wanted outa there for sure From TSN site "Now the big question is… will the Devils be able to re-sign Kovalchuk, or is the 12-year, $101 million dollar deal Waddell says Kovalchuk turned down to stay in Atlanta too rich for the usually conservative devils?"
  17. Is the ticket for friday still available? I'll take it if it is
  18. I can't start until the 1st week of May, final exams until the end of April!
  19. lol why do I get a question mark by my name? I'm in and if there is a rod length limit then that is okay with me.
  20. I think it could be fun but I would want to rock out my 11'2 switch rod, 10' limit is for wussies haha I kid I kid! mmmm beans
  21. I had a great time and got lots of fishing/casting/tying tips from various people in the show. Picked up a tube fly adapter for my vice and tied up a couple of Popsicles on the tubes last night Pretty stoked to get out and fish em!
  22. Sweet show this year except now I want an Opti Switch but can't afford the $750 price tag lol Oh well a Whistler hat will have to do instead
  23. According to this website, Metalhead is being released on Feb 1 whoop whoop. Pretty stoked on it! Was talking to the guys in Troutfitters and they were saying it should be in their shop soon to http://www.flyfishingmedia.com/metalhead.aspx
  24. I'll be there on Saturday for most of the day. I'll definitely stop in and say hi
  25. Is that with line out through the guides or all the line on the reel? I lined up the reel and it balances about an inch from the top of the cork so I think it should be good to go. thanks for the advice. Can't wait to get out with the new reel.
