  2. Right. Because I'll whip your @ss if you stick me with a hook!
  3. Sheesh guys.. I've never even met BBT in person and I knew there was no way in hell he was being serious!
  4. First time ever fly fishing was on the Crow.. it'll always be a special place for me. Love that river. Good job guys!
  5. Thanks guys! What a wonderful day outside!! These are the days I love my office job.
  6. My 3.4L V6 4Runner was rated to tow 5000lbs. My travel trailer weighs ~3000lbs when loaded and in the wind and on the hills it struggled big time. Had to rev the p!ss out of it to keep it up to the speed limit on the highway. Around town wasn't bad at all though. These tow ratings are funny.. if 3000 pounds was that sketchy, the full 5000 must be real fun!
  7. Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the craps table. An attractive blonde from St John's, Newfoundland arrived and bet twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!" As the dice came to a stop she jumped up and down and squealed... "YES! YES! I WON, I WON!" She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed. The dealers stared at each other dumfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know - I thought you were watching." MORAL - Not all Newfies are stupid and not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.
  8. TSN is saying the Flames got Olli Jokinen for Lombardi, Prust, and a 1st rounder. All but confirmed right now..
  9. I only have 3 rods to begin with.. a 3, 6, and 8.. Haven't used the 8 at all yet. I use the 6 on the Bow primarily.. the 3 when i'm feeling adventurous.
  10. Yeah... CDock and myself are thinking of going splits on one..
  11. Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
  12. Posted that question on the Fly BC website awhile back.. got this response: QUOTE (birchy @ Apr 18 2008, 01:42 PM) One more question.. does BC have anything like "Barry Mitchell's Alberta Fishing Guide"?? The Musso brothers produce a series of map books that cover a fair portion of the province and they have one on the Kootenays. That is pretty much it. BC Outdoors used to produce a map book that covered the whole province, but they gave it up a couple years ago. I did a lot of the work on the detail but you can't cover the whole province in one book and make it anything more than general information. They dropped the ball when I suggested a more highly detailed bunch of map books. That was 3 years prior to the Musso Brothers and the rest is history. About all I can add is that almost every stream in the Kootenays has trout in it. It's just a case of doing a litte searching to find the better ones. Nobody is going to tell a stranger about access to his "pet stream", unless the fishing guides are already offering trips there. I won't write about a system until the guides start working it. Then it's public information. So pretty much what Terry said..
  13. *EDIT* BBT beat me to it!! He also enjoys cake.
  14. If work and money weren't an issue I'd seriously consider moving back to Cape Breton for sure! I've heard good things about the island on the other side too though!
  15. Very well put. This hits the nail on the head. I actually had the chance to have a chat with Dean McAmmond one day before he got traded away again.. I brought up this incident and asked him "i'm sick of hearing how the media feels about it, how do you PLAYERS feel about it?" He basically said that "there seems to be an overall lack of respect between players in the NHL the last number of years, you just can't do stuff like that" BUT, he had no doubt that "Bertuzzi absolutely did NOT mean for it to happen the way it did", that "he's not that kind of guy". So that carried alot of weight in my opinion about the whole thing. I'm still of the opinion that the broken neck was actually not a result of the punch, or his head hitting the ice... but rather the dogpile of like 5-6 players on top of him after he was unconscious. Granted.. i'll concede the point that if Bertuzzi hadn't punched him, it never would've happened.
  16. Welcome to the board! Everyone will have lots of good things to say about the Pflueger Trion or President.. including myself.
  17. In other words.. still living with mommy and daddy..
  18. If you want to go even cheaper.. check out International Clothier's in Chinook, or Pinstripes in the downtown mall. I've had suits from both that lasted me a good 3 years.. wearing them at least once a week.
  19. No doubt.. I'd work there for 100K/year.
  20. No worries.. it's not looking too promising for me right now anyways!
  21. Has anyone had any success in the winter on the Elbow between the Glenmore Reservoir and the Bow? Elbow River from Glenmore Reservoir downstream to Bow River CLOSED Apr. 1 to May 31 and Oct. 1 to Nov. 30 June 1 to Sept. 30 and Dec. 1 to Mar. 31– Trout limit 1 under 35 cm; All trout over 35 cm must be released; Mountain Whitefish limit 5 over 30 cm; Maggots are the only bait allowed and only in the river from Aug. 16 to Sept. 30. I'm itching to go out today but my wife might need our vehicle. I'm thinking I'll either get her to drop me off on the Bow somewhere or I'll walk to the Elbow..
  22. Holy! Already? This winter hasn't been that bad actually.. knock on wood.
