Streamer Line For Zaxis 690
jayjjones11 replied to chiasson's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
You're comparing apples to oranges here. A floating all-around line vs a sink tip (that is made for streamer fishing). If you're looking for a sink tip line, the streamer express will do it far better than a GPX with a sink tip looped on. What are the odds that the companies that are promoting a line as a streamer line, are going to outperform an "All Around" Line for streamer fishing?? You'll get by with the GPX, but if you want a devoted streamer line, then buy one. -
they shatter if you give them a chance to freeze, such as walking from hole to hole in below zero temp
-
yeah it's pretty clever...a bodkin

a handful isn't much. It does happens not all the time, but enough to make me think twice. I tie on metal tubes now

Kovalchuk Traded For Peanuts
jayjjones11 replied to maxwell's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Love to know where you get the 'prime' age. Most players peak around 27 for their skating, but they get smarter...Most would say a winger peaks around 30 -
I'm a little hazardous on going for a Qtip as a plastic tube, due to the fact that they will shatter if you freeze them and then throw a snap-t

Smitty, Kovo has been putting up 40-50 goals for the last 5 years (and on pace for another 50 goal year) on a team that has absolutely no players to compliment him. Both crosby and ovechkin have great teams around them. Put Kovo on a good team, and he's just as good as any of the other two. Kovo will get a 10 mill + contract come Free agency -
the most promising player recieved a big paycheck, and suddenly got worse and worse. I'm sorry, but there are a LOT more promising players on the squad then Phanuef. He was very promising at a time, but he fell into laziness and believing his own hype... Not a player lived in fear of him anymore, and he was outplayed at least once every game. If you think Phaneuf was the way to lead the flames to the cup, obviously you're delusional. Have you actually watched White? he's playing better D than Dion all year. ps. they arrived this morning, did you expect them to just fall in line in less then 10 hours?

Rod Position, Rivers, Lakes & The Chuck
jayjjones11 replied to alhuger's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Watch a good tarpon (or chinook, etc etc) angler fight any species, they all do it the same. Trout or salmon, the rod is angled and they're torquing on the fish. If your rod is above 45 degrees, then why are you bothering to pull on the fish, you have almost no energy being exerted. Fight all the fish you hook (salt is a little different as they scream line off, but once they're done their huge pulls, then start fighting them regularily) just like you do with the Anadro fish. The longer you have a fish on, the more likely it's gonna come off. Can't stand watching a guy with his rod 90 degrees up and the rod tip slightly bent, takes forever, and is pretty useless at landing fish. -
though you guys would all need these.... http://fatguyflyfishing.blogspot.com/2009/...rk-already.html

I'm normally an all rainbow kinda guy but that is a magnificent looking brown.

Great looking rod! (but note that the ES streams open the 16th of June, not the 15th!)

You're missing the need for a deer hair collar (which is required for a true Intruder). That is what lets the bug really stay puffed out, as well as increases the movement of the fibres.
-
This is the way the Original Intruder was tied and designed by Ed Ward. So yes, there is an exact pattern. Calling every fly with a stinger hook 'intruder style' is simply not true, just as calling every mayfly adult an adam style fly is not true. And i'll be the first to tell Flyon that his fly is a very nice streamer, that will catch a lot of fish
-
A very nice bug, but I think a common misconception is that a trailing hook classifies a fly as an "Intruder"
-
perhaps you should stick with the fact's you know firsthand, instead of 'a buddy'. Cuba is world renowned for it's large, but 'stupid' bonefish.
-
Indeed it does, including a updated film for spey fishing

If you want guys to flaunt their desperate fishing ways for one of the most special fish in the world, then be in a rush to buy it. However, if you want to see a movie that does them justice, as well as explains proper fishing technique, get Lani Waller's Steelhead Legacy, not sure if you can find one in town or not.

scented would be considered bait
