  1. That movie could very well be the nail in the NRA and NRC coffin for fishing the skeena..i hope it never is released
  2. Simms has a first year fix free, then a lifetime manufacturer warranty after that point.
  3. Jack, I find it odd that you disable your signature for this thread. Don't want people to associate you slamming another rod company, while working for another? Wierd
  4. Looking at the video, though very hard to tell, seems that steelhead is missing it's adipose....yikes
  5. What are the average size of a skeena steelhead in comparison with a steelhead on the Dechutes (or any other river in the states) thats all that needs to be said.
  6. wolfie are you drunk? You complain about someone not giving you attention then you say you hate being approached. Make up your mind
  7. Why bother with a closure, all we need is enforcement. Give the random campers/ATVers Mclean Creek and Indian Graves as designated areas, these places are ruined enough already. If we close these areas, they'll find other areas to go trash. there needs to be designated areas to take the beating to save the rest. No guiding would make these areas outstandingly better, by removing pressure that these streams would not normally see without someone putting in some homework (instead of just some bucks)
  8. walk and wade guides who bring locals and non-locals to such areas don't contribute to the 'crap' fishing? Just wondering.
  9. You remember incorrectly. The release was in 2000, and biologists have stated that fish could live to 20 years in Dief. These fish are mutants, and these guys openly admit it's because of the release that they have these fish to catch
  10. Heres the facts. Diefenbaker has Rainbow Trout Farms. Dief also had monster ice shelves that broke and cut the nets at the farms, and suddenly you have these monster fish that are alpha predators roaming the lake! Perfect recipe for absolute monster rainbows that will grow unbelievably fast. So yes, they are complete freaks
  11. sounds like the sale pitch worked. Just mentioning your mistake, you called it Triple A Cork, and it's not.
  12. You realise that it is not Triple A Cork at all. It's a composite and synthetic mix with ground up cork.
  13. I'll play devils advocate and ask how you knew it was a manufacturers defect. Did you wax your ferrules since you bought it? Did you make sure it was tight in the other ferrule.
  14. sounds like fun, though what's with the white glove...michael!?
  15. Have you been keeping in touch with the BC current AMP for the Skeena drainage? They're trying to implement EXACTLY this. Draws for NRC's and limits on total days fishing. Seems they're forgetting the draw for residents though (so i guess we and they are ignorant)
  16. A ) Fish farms can be done close-containment B ) Sport fishing & tourism generates far more money then what money is brought into the local economy from both commercial netting and salmon farming. Most of the salmon farms are owned by Europeans and have Europeans workers. C ) What about the native populations that depend on the salmon for food D ) What about the bears/eagles/osprey that depend on the fish for food as a tourist industry. Without sockeye, these rivers will die. There are always more jobs and money, there are only so many rivers.
  17. Where you hear that one?
  18. How is it being a rip off when no one is forcing you to buy one? If you're not wanting a $800 dollar rod then don't buy one. Period.
  19. I think we can all agree to delete the link of spawning areas then? Not something that should be just given away with no effort
  20. Re-read dustin's post. It was the guys staying at the B&B that had the flip out, not the owners themselves. They could have misunderstood the owners. How do we know the no-tresspassing signs are not up just for their land (which is completely legitimate), and the anglers assumed that the river was private. Why not save yourself the argument and go have fun fishing. Either way, Going out of your way for something as simple as guys paying to stay at a B&B and being upset cause they think they're getting leap frogged is a waste of air. The time it would take for you to go to the crow and have the discussion could go a long way in cleaning up garbage on your favourite creek, or finding a rising fish in a favourite stretch.
  21. go buy a 50 dollar dingy that the drunkards use, wear shorts and sandals and use it as a location mover, not a fishing device. you'll be fine
  22. We need to get more flow in the bow right now. This could be a bad two weeks.
