  1. Hi Sundance, Have you fished either of these locations to offer this opinion?
  2. Cool video. Someone could use some more practice with the net!
  3. never admitted to an affair.....jumping to assumptions much? I don't have to remind you of what assuming makes you.
  4. Also, what kinds of salmon are you planning on targeting. A rod that is good for pinks, and smaller steelhead, isn't going to handle chinooks all that well, or big Northern Coho very well. Need more info
  5. I hope I'm wrong as well. But if you saw the change to regs to the river that a very recent video was featured on, you'd be worried as well.
  6. I would be surprised if the members of the AMP did not see it as a further reason to reduce non-residents access to rivers, due to the chance of an increase of non-guided anglers due to a film promoting the fishery.
  7. That movie could very well be the nail in the NRA and NRC coffin for fishing the skeena..i hope it never is released
  8. Simms has a first year fix free, then a lifetime manufacturer warranty after that point.
  9. Jack, I find it odd that you disable your signature for this thread. Don't want people to associate you slamming another rod company, while working for another? Wierd
  10. Looking at the video, though very hard to tell, seems that steelhead is missing it's adipose....yikes
  11. What are the average size of a skeena steelhead in comparison with a steelhead on the Dechutes (or any other river in the states) thats all that needs to be said.
  12. wolfie are you drunk? You complain about someone not giving you attention then you say you hate being approached. Make up your mind
  13. Why bother with a closure, all we need is enforcement. Give the random campers/ATVers Mclean Creek and Indian Graves as designated areas, these places are ruined enough already. If we close these areas, they'll find other areas to go trash. there needs to be designated areas to take the beating to save the rest. No guiding would make these areas outstandingly better, by removing pressure that these streams would not normally see without someone putting in some homework (instead of just some bucks)
  14. walk and wade guides who bring locals and non-locals to such areas don't contribute to the 'crap' fishing? Just wondering.
  15. You remember incorrectly. The release was in 2000, and biologists have stated that fish could live to 20 years in Dief. These fish are mutants, and these guys openly admit it's because of the release that they have these fish to catch
  16. Heres the facts. Diefenbaker has Rainbow Trout Farms. Dief also had monster ice shelves that broke and cut the nets at the farms, and suddenly you have these monster fish that are alpha predators roaming the lake! Perfect recipe for absolute monster rainbows that will grow unbelievably fast. So yes, they are complete freaks
  17. sounds like the sale pitch worked. Just mentioning your mistake, you called it Triple A Cork, and it's not.
  18. You realise that it is not Triple A Cork at all. It's a composite and synthetic mix with ground up cork.
  19. I'll play devils advocate and ask how you knew it was a manufacturers defect. Did you wax your ferrules since you bought it? Did you make sure it was tight in the other ferrule.
  20. sounds like fun, though what's with the white glove...michael!?
  21. Have you been keeping in touch with the BC current AMP for the Skeena drainage? They're trying to implement EXACTLY this. Draws for NRC's and limits on total days fishing. Seems they're forgetting the draw for residents though (so i guess we and they are ignorant)
  22. A ) Fish farms can be done close-containment B ) Sport fishing & tourism generates far more money then what money is brought into the local economy from both commercial netting and salmon farming. Most of the salmon farms are owned by Europeans and have Europeans workers. C ) What about the native populations that depend on the salmon for food D ) What about the bears/eagles/osprey that depend on the fish for food as a tourist industry. Without sockeye, these rivers will die. There are always more jobs and money, there are only so many rivers.
