  1. FINALLY!!! Last year was the worst.. headed out with the family on a Tuesday to stay for the week and ensure we get a good spot. Counted 3 units left on premium river side spots within 2km.. no one there all week...they will be here on the weekend right? That's a NO, weather was crap so none of them showed up on the weekend either.. wrote letters to each of them and left stuck to the trailer doors on the Sunday we left. Key word SELFISH! Came back the next weekend, 2 of the units where still there letters still attached! No one there for nearly 2 weeks.. Gets my blood boiling like nothing else..
  2. x2, love this rod.. only problem is now I want one in 5,6,7 I have heard they are solid on warranty but no personal experience.. I am sure the time will come
  3. I use the 1120 for almost all my nymphs. Some micro leaches as well. I find the beads fit well. Great quality hooks I did go to the 1270 for Chrinomids as longer profile which I like better
  4. x2 had the same problem and this resolved
  5. depends what you mean by rough.. I have never had any issues. I have 12'....36" floor Crestliner, love it. I would definitely get a 36" floor, 32" is not enough in my opinion. Extra 4" helps with stability. I usually fish in my boat alone as doing the two rod chronomid dance in BC.. with that said 2 guys can be done, just a little tight with gear. If you are going to fish with two in the boat majority of the time I would consider going to a 14'... you are however of course adding weight which can be a downside. Something to consider if you are putting on the roof of your truck or have a trailer. Either way best way to still water fish, you won't be sorry if you pick one up
  6. ever consider a tacoma or frontier with a nice leer canopy? I don't think you will find a better fishing unit... fuel eco, space, off road.. little bias as have the frontier. I would buy the same truck again tomorrow but would go for heated seats... getting old
  7. Does anyone have any current info on the condition of the road from Cat Creek south? Government reports show still closed as of Feb but can't find anything current... Really don't like going south on 22hwy to maycroft... and yes I know the rivers are not open yet.. Thank you!
  8. Sims FreeStone $250... great waders at a reasonable price Had mine 4-5 years now with no issues and I am hardly kind to my gear...
  9. Barbless - prefer an easier removal, just a preference, not a belief..
  10. What are the thoughts on heading into Oldman through gap section? Obviously fishing is out but have some campers I am meeting..and again obviously not camping near the river
  11. Thanks Paul. Hope things are well
  12. Hi Don, I was fishing pike on Sunday and ha no issues on a #2. Standard trout set. I would say 50% or better. Not sure if that helps. Can't see using a bigger hook to be anything but an advantage with pike. James
  13. X2 plus the reel saver feature. Definately don't see the harm in them..
  14. Honda 1000 Inverter Series with Econo feature - Deadly quite, burns very little fuel, carry with one hand no problem. I find my rarely rev's up ofd econo mode unless "Wife+hair Dryer"
  15. I bought a Leer myself through Raven. Paid to have channels put in the roof of the cap at the factory to accomadate Tule/Yakima roof racks. Good thing too because for whatever reason the only way to get racks on the cab of my truck is to drill through.
