  1. You can not go wrong with this jacket. I own a lighter verson Simms and it is awesome. I do know a guy who owns a G3 and he raves about it. Although pricey, Simms stands by their product and it is all I buy. You will get years out of it and this is how I justify the price.

    Iso

From what I understand this method with the iso, or rubbing alcohol only works if the material is goretex. I could be wrong, but this is what I have been told. I have owned Simms goretex waders for 6 years now(second pair) and I can say it works. The only area of concern sometimes is seams.

    Lime Trude

Those are my GO TO for cutties all summer.
  4. This is a good informative thread. I only tow a 10 foot Rockwood tent trailer so the f150 is suffice. I will keep an eye on this as it may give some insight for me in the future.
  5. Don't worry MTB, I am sticking with the single handle 9 footers as well.
  6. Tell that to John fergusson Jr. I doubt his phone is busy!

    Sink Tip

Thanks for the feedback boys. Brent, this set up is only really used on the Bow so no real need to have the extra loops from multi tip . If the running line was still in decent shape I would make my own as I have done this on my first streamer line years ago. Worked fine and does save $$$$.
  8. I am a big time Habs fan and just watched the Atlanta Montreal game. Moving Huet was strictly a salary dump and I am sad to see him go. Solid tender and did a lot for his team. However, hockey is business and having Price in the wings is their gamble. Speaking of a rookie goalie taking them deep, remember Dryden, Roy...... Only time can tell but Price has been an MVP at all levels he played. Huet was rumored to be asking for 4-5 million next year which is his approximate market value. Look at Rolosen( 3.8 mill, Emery cloth 3.7 million). It would be nice to have Huet going into the playoffs for sure but, at least they got a second rounder in an upcoming draft that is said to be very deep in talent. As far as Richards going to Dallas, the Stars improved no matter what. They only lost a backup and replaced him with a backup. Richards was the playoff MVP in 04 when they beat the Flames. I would be weary of taking the big 7.8 mill on for a few more years, but he is a great player and proven winner.

    Sink Tip

Need a new sink tip as the old one if cracked and needs replacing. It was a good line, SA wet tip express. Am looking at the Streamer express though site research. 30 foot head and a 5.5-8 ips sink rate. Looks about right for the bow. I wade fish and pontoon casting my streamers with a 7 wt. sage vps. Anyone have a streamer express????? comments
  10. Also have the mustang and vouch for it. The fishin hole around 175.00. Nice as it is not cumbersome .
  11. If you feel your team is good enough, sometimes the best move is no move. Time will tell. GO HABS GO.
  12. Trading Huet was strictly a salary dump to free up $$$$ to sign Hossa IF they had landed him. Tippet was not strong enough I guess. Would like to have the 2 goalies now considering no Hossa.
  13. Was hoping the HABS would land a big fish by the name of Hossa. However, unless you can sigh them to big a risk for the Rental. Works for some, but not willing to give lots of young guys and picks away with no security. The deadline is fun to watch, but, in reality 16 teams make the playoffs and if you do not win Lord Stanley....................... Some say the deadline has 1 winner and 15 losers ( teams) . Hossa must feel like some loser playin with crosby and malkin. ya right!!!!
  14. The assembly line, glue, great stuff!
  15. How do I fix this? I recall it occuring to someone else and someone posted a fix. Thanks
  16. Well, I built a house 5 years ago.... wait a minute.... Beattie homes(junk) did. I just signed the cheque.
  17. SA GPX Great in all conditions. Low memory and I have fished mine for many winters without problems.
  18. Being a teacher, I miss snow days! Nice to have the odd day off mid week. As far as snow and shoveling, I scrape snow here, not shovel. Clearing the driveway in Cape Breton after snow storms was an hour job minimum. Mind you, there was no -49 with windchill. Remember 3 weeks ago fellas?
  19. No problems with mine. Love the PVR and HD!
  20. Kelly Gallop had a great informative presentation at the Expo. Learned a few things that I plan to practice. As what others have said, the sink tip is great on the Bow. I am due to pick up a new one in the near future. I fish streamers, often double rigs when in the pontoon, with a 7 wt. sage VPS and a SA wt tip express. It is a 15 foot head. I am going 25 next time for some of the reasons Russ had mentioned. I only use 12-18" leader, staight 10 or 12 lb. Maxima. Longer leaders defeat the purpose of the sink tip and you get a belly in the line with your fly up and not in the hot zone. IMO I think I read in a McLennan book that when Lefty Kreh fished the Bow he only used a 10-12" leader. I also like the advice on unweighted streamers. I tie all my own flies and have in the past weighted to heavy. Gets it down all right but sometimes to much makes it act unnatural. I now tie with a variety of weights. You will like the streamers and sink tip when the Bow is completing run off. Big browns on the banks!!!!!!!!!!!!
