  1. More so to add weight to the toe or heel of the club. This is to help control side spin ,slice or hook.
  2. Could be from the hard sharp tugs also, whenever i get snagged up i walk upstream and steady pressure,if that fails then a couple of roll casts.I only do vertical tugs slowly.
  3. managed to get some time to sand and fill all the bumps and lumps,to break up the interior i painted some spots a different color. Then on with the bedliner, Next the outside, not sure yet what color.
  4. Oh god here we go! If i tie in a little hackel on my bobber can i fish with you?Oh and careful sometimes my backcast dips a little as the rapala im nymphing is a little heavy! And yes my *hit stinks!
  5. Nice tie,the skulls will turn and i doubt a fish could care less anyway. If you scratched the inside then use some glue you may get them to stay.
  6. If your fishing in water 20' or less look for the side scan types. These are the ones you just clamp to the side of the boat.
  7. I've always wanted a lab,i would have thought of them as a large dog but google also calls them mid size.I've been scouring the shelter sites.Theres all sorts of mixes out there with the lab in them.
  8. Ah yes a brittney has always caught my eye.
  9. So this works if i use the attach files at the bottom. and this is copying from image shack, hitting enter twice works thanks.
  10. After 16 years we had to put our cat down awhile back ago,so the house seams a little off if you no what i mean.My wife has said already a few times that shes surprised i haven't come home with a dog yet. When the cat was around i always said i would like a dog when the time comes.I've been around dogs most of my life so i no what I'm getting into.I think the time is close so I'd like to here what other people have for pets.I'm thinking something mid size, i don't want the yappy lap dog, labs are cool but i don't have the space. So my question, whats a good city type dog thats mid size?
  11. While were on topic of pics, after i copy the link the pic shows up but i have hard time typing anything after the pic.I cant click after the pic.
  12. Just plywood sprayed with truck bedliner.
  13. Thanks guys,i ordered some polyurethane bed liner with rubber chunks in it for the inside floor.Should have it this week.Out side will get painted after that. Can't wait to start doing some floats.
  14. I found a little larger base that my 3/4" pole seat would fit into.It just has a small adaptor. added in some oar locks
  15. Well theres no doubt that handling a fish removes slime bare handed or gloved.Poly nets are a good example you can see the shine stuck to it after you've released the fish. My point is what does more damage,a fish tailed say with a wet wool glove or a fish that flops around on the rocks or gets dropped because your hand is so frigging cold you can't even feel the fish.
  16. I've used a glove before.I liked it for bigger fish, you grab it by the tail and it doesn't wiggle away like a bare hand grab does. How many times have you had a fish flop around because you can't get a grip onit? The fish flops around with every failed attempt. With a glove you grab and it stays, remove the hook, done. I see more crappy nets used then gloves and they probably remove more slime then a glove would.
  17. Not really sure but with a big guy like me up front it'll blow us around. If the winds that bad then the minncotta rows
  18. Bench build, just using BB ply left over from my first build. Not concerned about weigh as this just gets tossed in the truck before i load the boat on top. had to lower it a bit as it ended up a little high, Anchor cleat to hold the scotty thing, this brings you upto date, right now working on fishing seat .
  19. OK i see.The 4x4 should be ok pending how big you make your mortis. You'll want to set up a jig/stop so all your cuts will turn out the same size/length since theres alot of repeat cuts.A plunge router with a 1/2" bit would be my choice.Sawsall also can doit just not as accurate.Hand cutting/chisel is ok too but power tools are way more fun. The plan looks solid to me maybe a little more slope on the roof 5,6/12 your plan looks more like 3,4/12 i would do a test joint where your rim boards meet the posts, there might not be much material left after all that joinery. good luck with it, should look cool with rustic/old wood.
  20. Not sure what u mean by rounding off the spikes, the mortise and tendon joinery is cool but very time consuming and not easy for a novice. simple joist hangers make life easy.4 walls with the roof(truces) bird mouthed and toe nailed or screwed in is the most common way.
  21. Playing with some bench supports, This is a 1/4" sheet of foam sucking down a layer of glass on each side,i can then cut out my pieces. Built a jig to hold the 2 pieces at a 90 while i fillet and tape together. They were a little long so I cut offf 8" and gave them a test.Pretty strong considering how light they are. Access hole cut, alligned ready for glue.
  22. Not sure but princess auto sells the heaters, maybe they sell the fuel in 5 gallon buckets.
