  1. Cortland 444 clear camo.I think its 5 years old and still casts nice.
  2. I bought some clear floating line a few years ago from England. Monic i think it was called, came out of the box like a phone cord and broke the coating on it in 2 weeks.I ended up chopping it up into different length tips.
  3. I thought more people would have it set tighter,I guess I'm not the only one.Like others i like the control of the brake with my little finger rubbing on the reel, loose at the beginning and getting tighter as the fight goes on.I would think it would also help protect lighter tippets and less chance of a fish jumping out of the water on hook up and spitting the hook.
  4. Kewl, Thanks.
  5. Nice work as always Steve, glad to see the oak put to good use. I have a job 4 ya,on the front of my boat where the anchor comes out i have a metal bracket with sharp edges that holds the pulley.I want to cover it with wood its about 6" by 4" it would be cool to have a head of a brown burned into it.I won't make the cover until spring so lots of time.
  6. LOL! what he said Welcome back dude.
  7. I can only comment on WFN as I've never had Telus tv.Most shows will show somthing new or new to me each week and then replay it for a week. The commercials are terrible but if you have a PVR you can skip them. So you get lots of re-runs and lots of Bass stuff but for the most part the shows i like i don't mind watching them a few times anyway. I don't think I'll ever get sick of watching April catch big rainbows at Forest lake.
  8. P.I.T.A. Pain in the ... Stonefly. Hook:79580 #4 Lead:Lot's Tail:Biots Body:Sparkle brown Rib:Copper wire The Stuff On Top:Scud back tan Legs:Rubber Eye's:Swannundaze melted back.
  9. Well there went my idea out the window, back to the bench. On the plus side i now have some biot stones in my box. Nice tie,PGK.
  10. OK I'm in, looks like i don't have to work.I'll bring the hot sauce for the eggs. If weather is nice anybody interested in wetting a line afterwords?Or does everybody go to the show?
  11. Happy birthday and tight grouping.
  12. I was wondering what people like to have there reels set at. I have my disc drag reels set on the soft side, tight enough that it doesn't back lash when i pull line out,no tighter then that.I guess years of having cheaper reels with little or no adjustment I've gotten use to using my finger rubbing against the reel as a brake. What say you?
  13. I'm working all day Sat.So i'll spend it all on Sun.
  14. Please do,I'm a damsel fanatic.
  15. LOL! Smitty.Maybe a couple of days too early, give it time.
  16. Never tried so just a thought.Could you not tie on a bunch of eyes to a long hook or needle in your vise. When dry just cut them off.
  17. Things are so much better when you make them yourself. I've got some ideers just need a basket of some sort.
  18. I remember seeing a show with Phil,he mentioned adding a little water to the bottom of the basket while in a boat.It kept the line moist and helped with distance. Anybody make there own?I figure i would just put a Simms sticker on it and it would look like i paid $100 for it.
  19. Them are some cool ties Mitch thanks for sharing.
  20. Can't say I've ever saw one on the Bow.I would think they would work well and also save your fly line. I guess the only downside is there size and probably not to comfortable for long walks. Any thoughts?
  21. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the first photo is #1 and so on.
  22. Thanks for idea's fellows.I'm starting to think what i really need is a pedestal so my vise isn't on the edge of the desk, then the droppings stay on top.
  23. Not a real pro here but I've had that too, starts out cutting well then at a certain depth it stops.I always thought it was the shavings getting in the way so i clean out the hole by hand.Sometimes helps. Get one of those adapters so you can use a cordless drill they work great. With a powerful enough drill you can push pretty hard and drill 20" deep holes no problem.Bass Pro has them.
  24. Whens the big day?Maybe a bachelor party on the Bow is in order.I see it now Drunk fly fisherman duck taped to belly boat seen floating down the river.Ha Ha!
  25. Congrats, Peter
