  1. Thats awesome ,this means the prices should drop on the Z's.I could just maybe afford a 10' 4 wt now maybe.. .
  2. You betcha, and kill all the skeeters.
  3. Last time i was at Glenmore Sailboats they had some 9' 2 peace aluminum ones.
  4. When using a motor on a toon you set it up to pull you not push. This way you steer with your flippers or you just let the oars hang in the water. This makes it easier to troll also.
  5. Someone forgot to tell the sisters that there was a game 7 tonight, looked like they weren't prepared. X2 on the better team one and with out help from the officiating.
  6. I guess he doesn't fish lakes then.
  7. Ya I'm all for the uni,its all i tie for line to line or floro to mono i guess its more of a double uni.The only thing is its not non slip so after most fish you need to retie. One thing i did try was after i passed threw the over hand and made my loop i then tied the uni instead of the clinch seemed to work ok, i used up allot of flouro but way easier to tie.Maybe it should be called the modified uni loop lol.
  8. I would agree the loop size doesn't seem to matter as i had loops almost twice the size as my fly and it still caught fish. But it just looks so good when the loop is smaller then the fly. Like you said Smitty having the half hitch small to begin with helps in loop size. What i found though was after i had struggled to wrap the line around the 3 or 4 times only to find out that the half hitch i created has tightened down so small i can't get the tag end threw.Frustrating to say the least.
  9. I guess i have it wrong then thats the knot i'm calling the rapala.I find it hard to keep the loop from slipping over my cronie when i wrap it around.
  10. I started using the rapala knot this spring on my lake flies and have been impressed with it so far. However i find it a little hard to keep the loop small, it also isn't the easiest to tie. What other loop knots are people using?Any that are easier then the rapala one?
  11. Nice job Terry they look great. How is the handle attached to the rim at the neck?Any special glue or is it screwed?
  12. Boston 4 - Vancouver Zero, What was thread about again?Oh ya too many drift boats on the Bow ,i say they should have a draw system and only allow so many per day. This would keep the traffic down and more room for the jets.
  13. Also i would post your story on Fly BC,you should have a new reel in no time.
  14. Ya I'd be pissed also, the rep admitted they had problems with that reel? Then why is it on the shelfs of WWS??Or why hasn't amundson replaced the ones their? That will keep me away from anything Amundson thanks for the tip. Beeker i woun't let this go, keep at them. Tungsten; happy to be amundson free
  15. Another thread. Back in the day it was fun launching in the city and jetting up through downtown all the way up too bearspaw.Of course there was only a handful of people who did it back then.Used to bang the bank just below the shaganappi golf course in the evenings just up stream from the crowchild bridge. As far as reels for a 4wt go.Hardy LRH,anything else would just be extra weight.
  16. Thanks i thought of TFH but since they don't sell BC license anymore i thought why bother.Phoned them and yes they have them. Cheers.Going to see if i can catch a laker.
  17. Where do i get one?WSS doesn't have them, was told i can get one at the gates. If so does anyone no when it opens in the am? I no i could google it but i never have any luck so its just easier to ask here.
  18. i just came back from BC ,atleast 3 weeks behind.Bushes along the shore were only 15% green.5x tippet loop knotted to a cromie caught some fish. Friggen Rain!!
  19. Like Nick already said you can not hunt grizzlies in AB, they are protected. In BC you can.Lots of problem black bears in this province,we just don't see it around here.
  20. 1219.2mm X 2438.4mm since your a math teacher lol! For the rest, there 4x8.
  21. Marine grade Meranti plywood is special order here in town and is also more $.Edmonton has a boat building store that has good prices. They also sell the epoxy for less. Let me no Smitty I'm in no hurry.
  22. Sometime in the next month i need 5 sheets of plywood 3 -1/4" sheets and 2-3/8" sheets from Edmonton. If someone could do this for me i could trade a day in my boat on the Bow . Thanks.
  23. Ya its definitely a one off color. After a few scratches with some of the other color showing it will be interesting.
  24. New center bench idea and battery box location. Looks comfortable.LOL!
  25. You no the little color charts they have at paint stores? They really aren't big enough. It looked good in the store at least i thought it did. Kinda 70's harvest gold.I was shooting for gravel road dust color.Guess i missed. Had the paint store add brown and white tint to it. Flipped it back over and started with some of the interior. I was thinking of a stern box for the battery but realized the battery box's are just to big,or the box I'd have to build would have to be quite large. I was thinking just some floor blocks and i could strap it down.Or i can build a bigger stern box and not use the plastic battery case. My center bench will just be rails for a seat support so no room there for the battery. What do some of you guys have/use?I'll end up using about 16"-18" of floor space to make a stern box thats big enough so the battery can be easily installed/removed. Is it worth the space loss to have a rear box?
