  1. Tie1on24, those are excellent fish. Love the BFR in the bottom pic! Who need 500$ reels!
  2. Very nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.
  3. I've actually been very impressed with the medallist pro. It is super cheap, got a spare spool for 20 some bucks, lightweight, great start-up on the drag, and I've beat the living crap out of it! Landed lots of nice fish too. Medallist pro
  4. How did the dent happen? I would have to see them both take the same beating under the same set of circumstances, to form an opinion. What? Don't do labs at university?
  5. Nice fish man!
  6. I guess it's cool to have that kind of stuff if you're a collector. I would rather fish with it though, i have an early 1900s casting reel that I have spooled up with dacron, and have caught pike on it. It can't just sit on the shelf!
  7. The truth is stranger than fiction.
  8. Hey Localanglr, Nice fish, nothing wrong with the spin gear once and a while.

  14. I'm not too keen on the idea of a derby myself. There are permits required, etc... How about a FFC On Ice "day"? We can still have unofficial prizes though, and I'd be willing to do some prefishing to locate spots and such.
  15. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury....exhZIPPIT A!
  16. Ladystrange- Sure thing, we can go. Lonefisher-yeah, it's spray lakes. It wasn't bad for half the day. The wind picked up later that day, and damn near carried me away!

  18. Ice fishing is alot of fun guys! Who's up for spray lakes lakers this winter?
  19. i will now go and....
  20. Dude, just let it go. People here fish streamers and people here catch good fish. You're coming across as being insecure, and desperately trying to prove something. 2 facts: streamers work for big fish, dries work for big fish. You have had some sort of epiphany, good for you. When you finally realize that fishing isn't just about catching "big" fish, then you will actually understand what fishing is all about. A wise man once said: "When you read something you know something about, you realize 90% of it is false, and when you read something you don't know anything about, you believe every word." Well, I know alot of members know something about fishing, and we've read a few of your posts...
  21. Yes, you will catch bigger fish throwing big meals. However, as was said, large fish feed on a large range of items, and sizes of items. You will nail big fish on #20's and on #2 lefty's decievers if it is you perogative. However steelhead, you're authourative overtones make me snicker, how's about a little subtlety, but judging by your fishing techniques, that is not your style. Give it a try. Oh yeah, there is a photo section here as well, I would love to see these bigguns, fishporn is always great!
