  1. Absolutely phenomenal!!! Those raptor pics are something else! Incredible job and display of talent!
  2. This is the kind of thread that made me leave the "other" forum. It is also the kind of thread that makes me a little frustrated and concerned about the direction this board might be taking. I fish to relax and enjoy nature, and take part in this forum so that I can live vicariously through other members. Well, If I lived vicariously through some of you in this thread, I would have my head in a dark hole that smells a little like s**t.
  3. Hit the wood today. Fished at one of the main access points along the highway, expecting to see few fish and even more garbage. Well, I saw lots of fish, and a s**t load of trash. Anyways, I caught a nice bow right off the bat on a little green humpy, and a few more cutbows on a little black copper john. The second cutbow I hooked, got nailed by a BIG bully that would not let go. I had to "guitar string" the flyline to make him move. He spit out the trout and ghosted back to his lair. Suprisingly the cutbow swam off no worse for wear!? That was it for fish, save for a 20" + cutty I hooked in some fast water on a stimmy, and there was no way to stop that freight train in the current he was in. I know, the one that got away right?
  4. Directly below the dam can be good when the Bow opens in spring. I usually nymph, but have caught them on dries there as well. That overflow bay can be good after dark, a few big rainbows and the odd brown. I usually use a BIG leech pattern or something similar. As for in the lake, there are some very big Lakers in there, and some nice rainbows. Right off the face of the dam has proven to be fairly useless for me, as there are tons of people bonking fish, and SO MUCH garbage it makes me sick. This area is redneck fisherman central, so take a garbage bag with you please. If you want to catch the best fish in the lake, drive towards the springbank golf course, but don't turn right when you see the sign for the golf course itself, keep going north on the road, and you can acess the lake at the bottom of the hill, take waders and walk the shoreline. (run on sentence ) This is where the river comes into the lake, and there are much better fish up there.
  5. Welcome to the board guys! It's great to have some international perspective. I hope to see some photos of UK broonies!
  6. Very cool shots. I like the bridge shot alot!
  7. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you guys! I wish I could've been there!
  8. Sweet! Thanks for the awesome story and the amazing pics. Someday, I will try this myself!
  9. This is also a problem brent has with the college girls.
  10. I found a bottle cap there, and that was it...all season!
  11. Yep, thats a mickey finn, and a black wooly B in the other.
  12. Hit the SECRET spot today.
  13. These 2 were about to leave the nest.
  14. I'd be using small chironomids or nymphs as well. Use real light tippet in there, and a tiny corkie, or some sort of indicator.
  15. Fish cat 4 is a great deal...you'd be perfectly happy with it. Deluxe is more money, as stated, but has an inflated seat, backrest, and you'll sit a little higher out of the water. As long as you aren't 300 lbs that is!
  16. Is that a moose I see?
  17. Very cool. Seeing as we have only mapped/explored a small percentage of the world's oceans, I am not suprised.
  18. Crazy...the hike that is...and possibly you! Still, looks like quite the adventure, and just think of the stories you can tell when you're an old fogey.
  19. Cool. Thanks Taco.
  20. I hit up the Oldman yesterday at an ungodly hour. Lets just say, that the stars are real visible south of Longview. Anyways, I figured it would be a little early for good fishing, but the season is drawing to a close soon, and I couldn't sleep. I decided to hike down to the confluence of the oldman and the livingstone, begin fishing downstream, and then fish all the way back up. To cut a long story short, I saw 1 fish rise all day, caught 2 PIG whities, and one real nice cutty. Sorry, no pic of the cutty, must have been close to 20 though. I hooked him on a 18 CDC bwo, and the hook popped out at my feet. What worries me, is the lack of fish. Is this not a particularily good stretch? Been pounded too much? Fish moving at this time of year? I didn't see more than 10 cuttys, and no bulls in the pools or runs. Irregardless, it was still great to get out, and hell, I didn't get skunked.
  21. What a great report, and an even better thread that is developing. I've been snickering for a few minutes now!
  22. Yes, it was funny. P.S. I'll get you back brizzle!!!
  23. Wongrs: KING of the shameless plug...
