The Three Stooges Thread
troutlover replied to Weedy1's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Harper needs to go but this way is NOT democracy. -
they might work great for bull trout also as they tend to hit the tail of streamers often missing the hook.

WOWZAS!!!! what was the tactic there? And was it the time of year that was so productive? Is that a very popular lake for tourist fly fisherman did you go to a lodge have a guide or did you just get on a plane and giver. Sweet photos. Oh one more did those fish just tear off the line when you hooked them and go arial or did they just pull like a fright train and tug of war till your arm was going to fall off. edit: The fish gods will bless you for sharing these photos with FFC, thanks man made my day

Fly Rod And Mtb Flies Auctions!
troutlover replied to reevesr1's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I think i won. Thanks for donating the flies MTB. Rick thanks for taking action for such a great cause. Cancer has affected both my parents, my dad beat it my mom not so lucky. It's sad,... i don't think a person exists that can say they don't personally know someone that hasn't been affected directly or indirectly. I hope as everyone fights and takes action in their own way it might be something we can one day know exactly how, why and control it. Best advice my mom ever gave me............ "Timing is everything". Thanks Rick. -

goood news! you don't have to find a doctor with small fingers anymore. They have a different way to test now. -
That was a lot of fun. Truth is i don't lake fish a lot and sundance shared some flys knowledge and techniques that worked well. We found some pretty nice fish chances are I'm going to give the lake a little more attention than i have in the past. Thanks for the pictures and i can't wait to get some of those perch your trying to get rid of. Love the picture of the bassbow!!!

Things You've Learned This Year
troutlover replied to bloom's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I learned that: -sometimes it's o.k to break the "rules" of "how to fly fish" -Fish will feed until they puke and then feed again.(and other fish will eat that puke another reason for catch and release) -When it's dark out I'm out. -No matter how many times i ask my uncle to come to calgary to fish the bow it's not going to happen till i club him stuff him in a sack and bring him here. -The season isn't long enough to fish all those places i meant to go. -Getting rid of my wife for five weeks this summer added five years experience to my fishing. -When your wife gets back from a five week vacation she expects you to give up fishing. -stay out of the damn water.(till it's been worked) -it's hard to not fish the bow. and last i'll tell a story I had a chance to be in Fish Tales when there was a guy from south africa getting directions to some fishing holes. I got to talking to him and offered to knock off work a little early to take him fishing to one of my favorite spots. He went to fish that day and i picked him up at 3 p.m from the river where he had been fishing all day. I asked him how it went and with a huge grin and in his thick dutch african accent he said "AMAZING!!!!!! it was truly AMAZING!!!! i fished for only five hours and i caught a 14 inch Brown trout!! and i had two other fish on!!!" I didn't know what to say except "AWESOME!!!"..... I mean how many of us would of had that response?.... not me.... that day would have been a bust (as far as numbers go... to be out is always a pleasure). We went to the spot i had planned and just as we got there clouds rolled in and a light drizzle began and things started to cool and a smile came across my face as i saw the migration of tiny BWOs begin. My new friend was very soon into his first bow river rainbow and several large fish after that, sadly as with many new to the bow he had a hard time landing the big fishies, but he was a quick learner and soon was maneuvering fish with side pressure. Again he amazed me with his great attitude even though he had several trophy fish on that day and had lost them he was FILLED with excitement. So most important this year i learned to appreciate the fact that i live 2 min from the bow some of the best trout fishing the planet earth has to offer. -
WOW! nice fish!! was it from the shore or from a boat iv'e been thinking of getting out on chaparral but figured the fish would be deep this time of year. biggest fish out of chaparral this year was 8lb (so the story goes) they did stock trips 5 summers ago this being the fifth so maybe they could be that big by now...... i don't know much about trips. what are some good late fall tactics?

when i was about 13 or 14 i got the same pain in my wrist right about the time the victoria secret mag came in the mail doctor said something about repetitive motion? I guess my wrist got sore from turning pages; however i found that in time it went away as victoria started to send a monthly advert and then a bi-weekly i turned pages more and more and soon my problem was gone i realized i just had to develop the right muscles.

Hope things work out for the best Rick. -
Someone who writes that a bull trout thats spawning will hit pretty much any fly that floats by them shows they are ignorant. I think if you don't know what your talking about you shouldn't pretend that you do.......... by the way bigbrown second post in a week you've come on to and been the loud mouth :$*%&: maybe you should try to protest with a little more tact instead of coming on the attack and you might find instead of ruining a thread you might get some good debate and a reasonable discussion. P.S- Tako! milking FISH! you perv!!! actually i did hear that you can milk anything with nipples. P.P.S-douche!
