Sorry to hear that Gary! Take care! P

Thanks Marc, I stand corrected! I didn't realize they (the gates) stayed open until 2200 on March 1. Thanks, P

What length? I ordered a 7'6" 3wt Redington Classic Trout 4 piece (stellar reviews if you google it and super light, as well) and for just shy of CDN$180 (lifetime warrantee/US$30 replacement). I cast the 8'6" 3 wt at the Expo and it was dreamy - test drove quite a few others and this one felt the best for me (medium action/mid flex)... P I'm sure others wil have su

Fish Creek Park is still open (until 1800) only the boat launch is locked during the day (for the winter)... For a float you can still park in the lot and carry your 'toon to the river. Just make sure you get back to pick up your car before they lock the gate @1800, unless you use or do your own shuttle. You can float Fish Creek to Police in 3 - 4 hrs depending on how often you stop... Easy peasy! P

That's better! Float times have been listed previously on this site, so if you do a search you should be able to find it... P

"I seen"!! Really!! LoL P

In my exp. you have to take/send it to an "authorized" repair facitilty (not necessarily found locally - but check online on your camera manufacture's website), depending on what is wrong with it, most likely it's not worth getting it fixed (cost the same to buy new). Unfortunately not an ecofriendly option, unless of course you do spend the $ to fix it instead of buying new... Either way, you will have to send it in to find out!! P

My advice is find a few pairs that you like (for the type of sking you do, price range, size, etc.) and check Kijiji or Craigs list for used... If you are getting back into it, then no real reason to buy new (this is just my opinion)... I would further suggest that maybe invest in a decent pair of boots (again find what's going to work for you and your feet, and if anything you could definitely buy new boots over a new pair of skis - again just my opinion)... I would think that sales are going to start up in a month or two, not necessarily at the present time, but I could be wrong... Nonetheless, start your search/education early and go to a specialized shop rather then a big box to get your info/possibly purchase (eg. would you go to Canadian Tire to gain information on buying a new fly rod?). Also most ski shops sell off their (higher end) demo gear towards the end of the season - in my exp. the demo gear doesn't get used/abused as much as their regular rental gear. *edit* Oh yeah, I have had good expereinces (when I purchased downhill gear - I currently use Alpine Touring gear, exclusively) at Ski Cellar & Techno Sport. I hope this info is helpful. Good luck! P

Wow!! How rude!! Some people, eh! Sorry to hear that! P

Mike, Don't have a used one for you, but if you go new, the guy that installed both our new furnaces was AWESOME, totally knew his stuff and was super reasonable (even though he was a bit of a curmudgeon)... I would definitely recommend him if you are interested... P

Very cool idea! Thanks for posting Marc! P

Try Costco then, though they won't have any staff to help you choose so you will need to educate yourself 1st and then see which models the have instock... http://www.costco.ca/Common/Category.aspx?...-CA&topnav= P

I have no info on specific units, but maybe checkout Maptown or MEC, would think MEC would have better prices, maybe not the selection or staff training of Maptown... *edit* I would think like with any other (electronics type) purchase, you have to assess what features you want, which ones you can live without and compromise between the two b/c chances are your "perfect model" doesn't exist - that is, if it's within the price range you quoted... Alberta Fisheries..where Are We Going ?
ÜberFly replied to McLeod's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
I for one don't mind when if my taxes/fees go up! But (and I'll take a page from Ray's book here - there is always a but...), as long as there is noticible improvement (justification for the increase!)! The problem I (and many others) have, is that the increased revenue gets pissed away!! How can we ensure that the levied increases go to something useful (get used appropriately)?! P -
L, Sorry to hear! I would approach your neighbor again as it is indeed his/her responsibility for their dogs behavior... Plus it will allow you to find & purchase new materials sooner rather then later. Kinda reminds me of a situation when we were infants (I'm a twin) and freinds of my parents came over with there dog and it peed all over their brand new (wool) carpet! I hope they do the responsible thing! P

Collections & Credit Rating
ÜberFly replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
No, no... He didn't know if it would effect his CR or not, nor did I, that is why I've posed the question. The bet was just a side thing (mostly cuz, I think I know it all!! )... I guess it was supposed to be his final pay cheque and it was just his final pay statement with a negative balance, not an actual cheque! P -
Collections & Credit Rating
ÜberFly replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
No sure he actually knew... From what he told me, he was expecting to receive his final paycheck (~$800 holiday pay) and it was - (negative) $220... So I guess I don't win the bet as you (and others) say it will, in fact effect his credit rating... P P.S. He felt it was "silly" as it was such a (relatively) small amount @ ~$220 (probably cost the company at least half of that to contract an agent to collect it! -
Collections & Credit Rating
ÜberFly replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I was looking for general info, but maybe there is more to the answer then yes will effect his credit rating, or no it won't... Maybe b/c I asked why/how?! P -
Gang, Was speaking to a buddy last night... He quit his job in the summer to take another one and his former employer ended up over paying him ~ $220 (something related to accruded vacation). Anyway, he's refused to pay becuase it's totally silly and it wasn't his fault they over payed him... Nonetheless, it has gone to "collections"... Does this in fact effect his "credit rating"? If so how? My thought was that it shouldn't b/c it is not "credit" related (not like defalting on a loan or missing a credit card payment, etc.). We have a DQ Blizzard riding on this! Thanks, P

Maybe he meant Alaska?! P
