  1. S, The only thing that I'm aware of is the ones that are extremely rare (have a flaw/mistake, etc. when being made) are the ones that appreciate the most... The common ones don't appreciate that much... Probably worth keeping for your kids/grand kids as you most likely won't be on the antiques road show anytime soon.... P
  2. Yeah it is quite the place... Mumbai was "interesting" - my eyes never stopped stinging! I'd go back to India in a heartbeat!! P
  3. Interesting photos! Having been in India quite recently we saw 1st hand how they dispose of there plastic water bottles - right out the train window (with the rest of their garbage)!! At least our "recyclers" get a pretty penny to collect... Some parts of India give a (very minimal) refund (deposit), most places do not... P

  5. Good luck with that, I've heard horror stories... Make sure you document everything and get the names and specific contact info of EVERYONE that you speak with! Builders seem to shun their responsibilities and new home warrantee is an unbelievable bureaucracy. No personal exp. , but again this is what I've heard... P
  6. Buy a snake you will most likely use it again. Get one that is at least 15' and that connects onto a hand drill, also you might be able to get one that you can change the heads (not sure but I think you can)!! A roto rooter guy will cost you about $100. P
  7. What's wrong with New Age music and tofu?!
  8. Compared to RickR, you do drive like a grandma!!
  9. Safer for you or the fish?! All kidding aside... In my opinion, if it's not going to be good for the fish, do you really NEED to take a photo?!
  10. Mitchell Welcome! Nice shots! Just be sure that if you are not keeping the fish to please keep them in the water do not let them lay on the ice or grass/gravel (especially if you are taking photos). P

  14. Andrew, I had some success using ACAD students for some design work... I had a contact that has since graduated and moved out of province so I'm not sure how you would post a note to someone there, but worth looking into... P
  15. Rick, ya finally admitting to being a moody SOB, eh!! P
  16. My buddy tours the best films around North America for the BMFF and oddly enough it's one of the few films that has generated some hate mail (letters of complaint) through the Banff Centre!! The ironic thing is it won the "Best Film on Mountain Sports" Award in 2010! P
  17. Of course you mean "Eastern Rises"!! Some great shots, but it did seem a bit "frat boyish"!!
  18. Oh and one more thing I should mention... Make sure you ask for a copy of the adjuster's report.. They'll say you are not allowed to have it (which is total BS), it is your right to have a copy!! P
  19. As I'm sure you know, a write off is when the vehicle repairs cost more then its value. I think you can still get it repaired but it depends on if the frame is bent (I think). Also, I think you can buy the vehicle back from the insurance company (or something like that - curbers do that sort of thing all the time) and repair it legally... But as you alluded to it depends on how much that will cost... As an aside... A co-worker had her 2010 Rogue totaled when it was parked outside on the street at the office in November. It was a write off. Insurance impound lot guys also stole a bunch of stuff from her car and insurance didn't count half of her extras and then said she was responsible for the deductible (yeah right)... Make sure you document everything and get an exact (or as close to it as possible) independent appraisal & comparison in which to value yours (Including similar milage). You can negotiate with insurance companies. Oh and make sure you watch last weeks CBC Marketplace!! Sorry my post doesn't answer your questions about auto body work in the US... P
  20. Taco, LX's replaced the LA's in maybe 2008 (I think)... The one in question is from 2001 NOS = New old stock... P
  21. Taco, Not bloody likely for a 10 year old reel in "good" condition... I agree it's a quality reel but condition is king and this one IMHO ain't all that great! I mean a 10 y/o reel in "mint" condition (or NOS) would maybe be worth 80% of a new one... P
  22. Ok I have consulted with one "Islander guy" already and I'm interested in some more opinions... What's a used Islander LA 3.4 in "good condition" (10 years old with a few dings, chips and scratches) with 2 extra spools, worth?! P
  23. Wow! That's impressive! And I bet you don't drain out the sediment at least once a year like you are supposed to, either (like 99.9% of people - including me)! P
  24. Are you sure you need a new one or do you just need a new "cold water dip tube" (about $100 installed)?! I ask b/c most people think they need a whole new unit when all they need is a dip tube... P
