  1. So does Steve P
  2. Other then the guy stepping in between you guys (not cool on any river), that's pretty much proper protocol on the Bow as well, actually (for people in the know - which is not many)... The guy should have asked to "rotate in" that way you would have known what he wanted to do... Seeing that he said he was going to do one thing, and then did another, that's a whole other scenario... Just my 2 cents. P
  3. Yes I have invested in a self inflating (hydrostatic [4" of submersion to inflate]) pfd and thankfully have not had to activate it (though I have been knocked down by and ice shelf and it did not inflate, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't 4" below). The non-hydrostatic ones, from my understanding can inflate when wet from the rain so I would be cautious with those... If you want the manual inflatable ones, MEC has the best price on those!! I'm curious to find out if mine will work and want to jump into a pool with it on, problem is, the cartridges are $70 to replace! Curiosity might get the best of me this summer and I might just have to forgo the $... P
  4. Yeah thanks Ev, got it figured out with 2.0. P
  5. Shawn, Why spend the $ on a Spot! Just fly (or hike) into Assinaboine - lazy people fly in pizza all the time! LoL! It's quite the gong show up there!! P
  6. Probably not your 1st choice but it would definitely give your parents peace of mind and then they may trust you more on the next trip... http://www.calgaryoutdoorcentre.ca/outdoor...ing-grades-8-12 P
  7. Failing those, just order one online at NRS?! Should be here in a couple of weeks...
  8. Thanks Mike! Question... Is Webmail 2.0 compatible with Mac OS?! I thought it automatically upgraded you if you were a Shaw subscriber?! Never really looked into it, as I just presumed it automatically upgraded to 2.0... P
  9. Anyone have an iPhone (4s) with Rogers and have had success adding a Shaw webmail account?! If so, let me know how you did it! None of the info online, nor on the Shaw support page is working... Thanks in advance. P
  10. If they are either Simms or Patagonia their warrantee would cover delaminating. If they are another brand and are still "Goretex" [Gold label], they would still be covered... If they are not, then I guess you are S O L... If you are not worried about breathability then just use a bunch of aquaseal... P
  11. What kind of warrantee do they have?! P
  12. Hey Jason, are you standing up or kneeling? P
  13. Recently I've been told about reelflies.ca. I've been told they are better quality then Iky... I am planning a test buy soon. FNG has purchased and speaks highly - a bit different variety then Iky, as well. Worth a look... P
  14. Chucked a 9' 5 wt at the show. Nice stick, except I HATE the narrow cork!! Was told that that's the trend now-a-days as the fastest segment of the industry is the growing female market (info was given not by the sage folks)... Also chucked the 9' 5 wt Helios (both tip flex and mid flex - mid flex worked best for me). Nice stick, as well and has a normal cork but is a tad more expensive then the one... Hmmm.... If I were to buy, not sure at this point which one I'd go with... P P.S. Also chucked the new Loop and the BVK... HATED the BVK, seemed tip heavy with my Bauer, but I presume it would cast better with a heavier reel (like the reel that was designed for/with it - the BVK reel - which is MUCH heavier then the Bauer)...
  15. Lornce (he has quite a few years on me and a few pounds, glasses and grey hair - no offense SD)?! I think you worked a little too hard at the show Colin!! LoL "Peter"
  16. So did you buy one Mur?! The Mystic rods that Courtney had at his booth looked pretty nice, but they didn't bring one in a 5 wt P
  17. That's too bad as is probably why I didn't see a raffle booth at the expo P
  18. For anyone that is interested there is someone selling a bunch of classic fly tying books on Kijiji! http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-sp...QAdIdZ349589776 P
  19. SA Streamer Express (with 25' head - possibly cut back to 15' - specifically for the bow) or one of the versa tip varieties... P
  20. Yeah but they have offset the carbon footprint (100%), so it's ok!!
  21. Geeze. If it wasn't on the exact opposite part of town, I'd be all over that!!
  22. Yeah, they don't take matresses anymore...
  23. Yes I was aware, but always thought that they took the old one only if you bought a new matress from them... I will call to check. Thanks! P
  24. So does anyone know if there are any charible organizations that take matresses (obviously clean ones)? Peter
